There's a popular stereotype--which, like all stereotypes, contains a grain of truth--of the twice-a-year Jew, only attending services on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Went to my local temple tonight for the first time (other than for the two b'nai mitzvah ceremonies I've attended there over the years.) It was great.
