Printer's Row Book Fair
Printer's Row Book Fair this weekend! Is anyone planning on going this year? I now have a cell phone I can semi-competently use and may be able to meet up with people. I can only go on Sunday (I have to work on Saturday), but I usually walk away with a few books and some inspiration to begin writing again & attending more literary events, which usually flies out the window a couple of days later.
Anyway, Sunday isn't so shabby...I can still see local celebrities Alpana Singh, Audrey Niffenegger, and Karen Abbott, although I am upset at missing Ivan Brunetti. And I'll be sure to hit up every vendor under the blazing sun. I wonder what one has to do to work at the Chicago Public Library booth? When I worked at the Newberry, they were sending out desperate pleas for booth volunteers until a day before the event, but with 79 branches I guess CPL's got it covered already---I haven't heard a peep about it in my staff e-mail.
