*gulp* I am going to end up watching Merlin, won't I? All the right people are going on about it and curiousity has been known to kill this cat before...

I have a favour to ask of those of you who still spare a look to my sporadically updated lj. I've had some chocolatey things with eggnog(or was it punch? The drink they have at Christmas time in movies :P) flavour, like a Milka chocolate, for instance and I liked them a lot. So I was curious to try the real thing. Any of you have a tried recipe? I could use one from the net, but that doesn't always end well *l*.
Also, if you feel like sharing the recipe for your favourite cake or cookies, or whatever, you get my drift, that'd be great :). I want to explore new fattening food ;P.

Here are some of my favourite cakes that my grandmother makes:

Cake with apples and cinnamon (this one's my favourite)

-3 big/4 small eggs
-1,5 cups of sugar
-0,5 cup of vegetable oil
-2 cups of flour (sifted right before that)
-2-3 soup spoons of yoghurt (that's supposed to be real yoghurt, but I suppose what passes for it in other countries will work, too)
-1 tea spoon of baking soda
-1 packet of powdered cinnamon, mixed with 1-2 tea spoons of cocoa
-2 packets of vanilla
-lemon essence(optional)
-4 average sized apples
-crushed walnuts for the topping

Beat the eggs, while gradually adding the sugar. After that keep beating and little by little add the oil, youghurt and the flour, that you've mixed with the soda. In a while, you should have a homogeneous mixture. Mix with the cinnamon, the cocoa, the vanilla and the essence(if you are using that).
The apples must first be cut to regular slices, and then they are sliced crosswise, so that you have small thin triangles in the end. Mix them with the rest.

Oil the baking dish and sprinkle with flour. Pour the mixture into it (it's best if the layer isn't thicker than 7-8 cm eta: Eh, I was thinking about the baked thing, make that no more than 4 cm!) and strew the nuts.
Bake at 200 °C (392 °F).

Apple tart

-4 eggs
-1 cup of sugar
-1 cup of vegetable oil and/or butter
-1 cup of youghurt
-3 cups of flour
-1 baking powder
-2 vanillas
-lemon essence/grated lemon peel
-crushed walnuts for the topping

-for the filling:
*5-6 average sized apples
*1 packet of powdered cinnamon
*1 pinch of cocoa(optional)
*2 soup spoons of sugar(brown's best)
*2-3 soup spoons of breadcrumbs/semolina
*2 pinches of coriander/1 pinch of nutmeg

The mixing of the base mixture's the same way as above. If you're not using a mixer, put the sugar in the youghurt beforehand, to dissolve.

Oil the baking dish and sprinkle with flour. Pour half the mixture in it. Then spread the filling on top of it and cover with the other half. Strew the nuts and bake at 200 °C (392 °F).

Brown and white cake

*Var. 1

-1 tea spoon of sugar
-3 eggs(room temperature)
-8 soup spoons of vegetable oil
-1 cup of youghurt
-1 packet of ammonium bicarbonate
-1 tea spoon of baking soda
-3 cups of flour
-2 tea spoons cocoa and/or coffee
-1 vanilla
-grated lemon peel/lemon essence(optional)
-crushed walnuts(optional)
-raisins, soaked in rum(optional)

Separate the whites of the eggs from the yolks. Mix the sugar with the yolks. Gradually add the oil and the youghurt, mixed before that with the ammonium soda. Mix the baking soda and the flour and add them too, also bit by bit.

Whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Slowly add them to the mixture, stirring with a wooden spoon.
Take about a tea cup of the mixture and add the cocoa/coffee to it.
Add the vanilla and the lemon peel to the part that's still white.

Oil the baking dish and sprinkle with flour. Pour about half of the white mixture in the dish. Pour the brown over it. Strew the walnuts and the raisins. Pour the rest of the white stuff.
Bake at 200 °C (392 °F).

*Var. 2

-5 eggs
-2 cups of sugar
-1 cup of milk
-0,5 cup of vegetable oil
-3 cups of flour
-1 baking powder
-crushed walnuts
-cocoa

Mix the egg yolks with the sugar, gradually adding the warmed milk. Add the oil, then the flour, mixed with the baking powder. Add the whipped egg whites. And the rest is the same.
