Underneath and behind, where the wild things are

How do I clean under my kitchen cabinets? I can remove the lower panel and see the floor.

WHY I want to do it is this is the main place my uninvited mice use, and I want to a) discourage them from the space by removing their scent markers b) stop the kitchen smelling bad.

Problems:

* The flooring underneath the cabinets is not easy to clean. It isn't lino; it's what's under the lino. Slightly fluffy MDF-type material (but not MDF). It wouldn't dry very quickly.

* I can't easily reach to the wall underneath the cabinets.

* I get panicky contemplating doing it. I find it hard separating the jobs of cleaning underneath the cabinets, and filling in the holes. (DIY angst/panic.)

I have googled 'how to clean underneath kitchen cabinets/cupboards', and not found anything helpful.

What are the steps I need to take? What equipment/materials do I need?
