My GP surgery has a big sign on it that tells people who suspect they might have flu to keep away. I don't think I have flu, but I do have a chest and ear infection/heavy cold.
Symptoms:
Much snot.
Chesty cough that sometimes leaves me struggling to breathe, particularly when I attempt to be horizontal. I have mild asthma.
Earache and buzziness/bad hearing.
Aching joints.
General weakness and woe.
Regular temperature.
I've been treating myself with painkillers and decongestant (helps with the chest infection and ear infection).
Should I go to the walk-in clinic tomorrow morning? What if I *do* have swine flu? My biggest fear is getting told off by the receptionists/doctor. (I'm waiting on an NHS direct nurse to call me back about that.) Yesterday when attempting to nap I was really struggling to breathe; I've had that for about 5 days. I just sit up and be tired.
Edit: just spoken to the (very nice) NHS direct nurse, and she said seeing as I don't have a temperature I don't have swine flu. I can go to the GP tomorrow, and do all the things I'm doing now to look after myself. (Decongestant pills, painkillers.) I want my chest checking out I think. My phlegm is non-disgusting though, so I'm a bit unsure.
