Use vaseline rather than oil on hinges, it will not run and dirty the paintwork
I am really irritated with the F chord. I need to practice it a lot more, and pay special attention to the top two strings which I do not depress sufficiently. Fingers are hurting. I am rubbish at F whether bar chord or not; I also need to get the technique right for bar chords, and practice that.
I didn't really notice when I was simply strumming the chords whilst singing a song, but now I am picking and it is really noticeable. I want to be able to play house of the rising sun well. I could do the verse from everybody hurts by REM instead, which uses easy chords (D, G, Em and A).. hm.
I let my practice slip since my last depression (which was ages ago); now I have regressed, and need to concentrate on simple stuff like how to play F well. But I also need to take a break from F as my fingers hurt.
Anyhoo, back to the grindstone for a while.
