Rocks so much better than computers!

I've noticed that since I started the new version of Welbutrin that I'm on, I seem to get the nightly blues. I just get down for an hour or so for no apparent reason. It's not exactly pleasant. I know I need to get a new doc here in town (or close by from what I hear through the grapevine) but it's just...exhausting having to go through it all again.

Fortunately it's not super serious, but again, it's not exactly fun.

Labs are finally out of the computer lab and into the actual lab room. SO GLAD. This means we actually get to look at rocks. YAY! Students seemed to like it so much more. Especially when I could convince them to look at things that are the cool properties. The amazed look in their eyes is wonderful :D

Had a great conversation with a student today. Student who doesn't show up for class asks if I put powerpoints online. No. I only put on graphs and charts and things that I want to be sure they know. Student says "I find it's easier to study if those are up to look at." Gee, you think? Get the slides but not actually come to class? Hmm. Let me think if I'll go for that :P

Attended my first faculty meeting today. It was about as exciting as you'd think. It was pretty cool that it happens in the Quaker meeting house, which is where Quakers do all the big important decision making. We also have opening and closing Silence, but fortunately it's only for a minute and not 40! Next time I go, I'm definitely either bringing my phone or a sketchbook (or both), because watching people around me...that's all anyone was doing (or grading).
