If I Lay Here, If I Just Lay Here

Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Whew, these past few days have been a whirlwind.

I started classes on the first. I was sooo nervous, but now I'm really into my studio ceramics course! I'm still sucking at spinning clay on the wheel, but practice makes perfect, ne? Hopefully it will make enough perfect for me to get all of my wheel projects done. My hands really hurt from it all, though n_n'

I've also really been enjoying my Teachers and Technology online course. I'm all about reading and writing papers based on the things I've read. That's my academic forte.

But the course that is truly kicking my butt is Art History. -_-
I've always hated art history. I've just honestly never had an interest in it. Sure, it's great that we have all of these fabulous contributions from the Egyptians, the Greeks, the Renaissance... blah blah blah... I just don't care. Doesn't bother me to not know the names of the famous sculptures, paintings, buildings, and their artists, and I hate that I have to take this course in order to be an art educator. I'm not planning on teaching art history - so why bother?

Ok, so gripe fest is over. n_n' Don't get me wrong: I know it's important to know these things in order to effectively teach art, but this is just an area of art I have a hard time with. I'd rather be MAKING art than studying it.

That being said, I passed my test with a 79 out of 112 - a solid 70%! Much better than the F I had been anticipating. n_n' I hope I can at least keep up the solid C's.

In out of class news, my cousin colored my hair pink. It's tres cute! It's starting to fade now, though. But that's fine. Can't imagine doing a job interview with pink hair. n_n'

Ardy has also run away. :( We had some bad storms the other day, and he escaped the out door kennel before my brother could get home from his doctor's appointment to let him out. He wouldn't have even put him outside if he'd of known there were storms coming, but... I guess that's the breaks. We've been calling all of the shelters in the area and posted up fliers... Hopefully he'll e home soon. :(
