It's been a few weeks since the last one, but finally we have reflection number 10!
What fandom do you wish you did for the semester project?
I'm pretty damn happy with Nabari no Ou, to be quite frank. I know that some people got disgruntled with their fandoms, but I just wound up like the Nabari fandom more. So... yeah.
There are fandoms I considered doing though. For instance:
Harry Potter Slash Fandom - I know someone did the Harry Potter fandom in general, but considering the sheer size of that beast, it probably would've been worthwhile for me to tackle the HP slashers. This is one of the fandoms I've been in the longest and easily the fandom I've read the most fanfiction for. (Soooo much HP slash fic.)
The Nu!Trekkies - I don't know a whole lot about Star Trek fandom in general, but for the last year I've been pretty deep into the ST fandom that spang up especially for the new movie(s). I think it probably would've been a pretty interesting fandom to study, since it is basically a brand new offshoot of a veeeery old fandom.
The CLAMP Universe - I'm not sure, but I think CLAMP is the fandom I've been in consistently for the longest period of time. Plus, it has the added benefit of being not just one fandom but a good dozen or so mashed together. The present backlash of the older fans against CLAMP interests me greatly. Of all my fandoms, CLAMP is probably the one with the most anti-fans hanging around in it.
Death Note - I'm not a massive fan of Death Note the manga or anime, but I'm a huuuuge fan of the fandom. Oh my god, the parodies. So many wonderful parodies. And the crazies people who write in their own Death Notes and send their schools into a panic. Yes. A very... intriguing fandom.
