Hi everyone^^ I was able to post again much sooner than I thought I would, a nice surprise for me. Tomorrow afternoon I leave for a business trip to Ottawa...it'll be 'run home from school and hop in a cab to the airport'XD My coworker wants to get my drunk (he does that with all of the women in the office when they go on business trips with him...it's not a threatening thing, just some weird personality quirk where he likes to drink people under the table^^;) and I'm trying to mentally prepare myself to resistXD
As for the title of today's post, Winnipeg has been experiencing the worst spring/summer I can ever remember:S It's a full 10 degrees below normal, we still have frost warnings on a weekly basis, and the wind and rain is not much help. According to some nutty woman at work (who has compiled a book about how the province is doomed, based on 80 years of weather recordsO_o) it's going to keep getting worse and worse, and eventually the growing season will be short we won't even be able to grow crops:O Now, she did predict this summer's weather last fall, so she's not completely off her rocker, but seriously? This is nuts. Apparently we will be one the places that actually gets colder due to global warming, and it becomes hard to ignore when this kind of weather continues. It makes me start thinking about what I can do to stop this crazy cycle we're in...
And conveniently, I decided to translate Green. Yes, not very helpful. I will try harder;)
A simple-sounding song, but a nice message in the lyrics...:3

since when have I been, for some reason,
unable to hear that scent in my eyes,
since when have we been just counting
the things we can leave for our children
it's as if that cloudless sky is staring at me,
as if it would talk to me
it's as if this ocean caressing my ankles
is looking up at me questioningly
though it was never our intent to do it,
it's a fact that we dirtied and injured it
if my little bit can stop it,
if my tiny little bit can change it...
then think sleeplessly, about what we
can do right now
the scars left by that everyday where we are
just scared of losing something
an embracing, warming gentleness
for the life blooming in resistance of the concrete
if my little bit can stop it,
if my tiny little bit can change it...
it should be there, always
they should have been there, so many of them
surely still, even now still
maybe the future will bloom on the trees, oh
what we saw at that time, the landscape of that time
that day and today are now, ah
put our hands together, not leaving it to someone else
for the sake of tomorrow
it should be there, always
they should have been there, so many of them
surely still, even now still
maybe the future will bloom on the trees
until the future blooms on the trees
I especially like Aiba's part, it's very visually inspiring. A good reminder we all need to do our part, this isn't one person's fight anymore...
Well, I better go do my homework and pack^^ I hope you all are having better weather than I, and some free time to enjoy it too=) Take care~
