taking palaeontology this semester (or our equivalent, rather), and so our professor's been using some of his lithographs in her powerpoints. she says they're sort of stylized, and really nowhere near 100% accurate, but i don't care. they're beautiful. i wish i could draw...print...whatever like that.
they're so intricate. the tiniest details! even if he did, er, improve on nature a bit.

we had to do internal/external drawings of our squid in lab, and i look at haeckel's squid compared to mine...well, i got the necessary parts down, but....
btw, squid eyeballs squirt if you cut them. apparently. now i know.
