So, surprising tid bit # 1. I'm single...again. And this time, I have no plans to hook up with, or date or even think romantically about anyone. There's no one on my mind right now in that respect

I'd wondered where you'd disappeared off to there. Sorry to hear that things haven't been going the greatest, but it sounds like you're on the right track to getting your head straight, and figuring out who you are, and what it is you really want. Sometimes, you really just need to go it alone to figure that out, instead of having everyone else's expectations of who and what they think you are or want you to be coloring the view.
Besides, going up north to do seismic testing there sounds kinda fun! :)
Anyway . . . If nothing else, I look forward to hearing how all of this works out for you. (When would you be heading up, if/when that happens?) Just be careful and safe up there, OK?
Yes, take a break. It will do you a world of good to have some freshness in your life, some healthy distance from which to look upto the larger picture. I truly hope that you find what you seek

I don't think it made you look weak. I think it makes you look...adult.
I am impressed beyond words and have a newer respect for you. You know I will wish you the best of luck, and I hope you find yourself. I will always have an ear to lend if you need to talk, or whatever.

Okay, here I was, thinking about this superb message to type, but as I was reading through the previous comments, about all I can say is "ditto". It totally doesn't make you confused, pathetic or weak. I admire you for typing what you did. Admitting our flaws or shortcomings is one of the hardest things there is to do. You've realized that you don't really like where things are going in your life, but not only have you said that, but you also know what you are going to do about it. The confused, pathetic, and weak person wouldn't be able to do that. I wish I had the courage to go away from home for a while, like you, and work through some things, but I am so afraid of being away from family and friends that I don't see it as being healthy for me. Anyways, I celebrate your post, I'm proud of you, and please know that I'll miss you, princess.
