I realised when I used to have a deskbound job, my health was in a bad shape and prone to falling sick often. Ever since I embraced a lesser prolonged sitting approach together with sensible diet/nutrition and moderate exercise, I managed to lose some body mass, felt fresher and lesser stiff shoulders.
Not going to talk too much about prolonged sitting as Dr Kelly Starrett's Deskbound book (Amazon link at
http://a.co/gGRUHpz ) does a great job in explaining the topic of prolonged sitting and also recommend corrective exercises to help one overcome the negative effects of prolonged sitting.
