So, a while back after finishing
Say [That You'll Stay] (which has a new streaming link by the way, since the powers of youtube decided to remove it), Lori and I made a pledge to finish some of our numerous WIP's before we would work together again. We made a goal of 3 and it seriously motivated me to knock stuff out.
Early in August after reaching our goals, we discussed what we could do. We talked about maybe making an Orphan Black video together, since that fandom has seriously taken over both of our lives (seriously, go watch it if you already haven't!!). Lori wanted to do something epic. Both of our previous videos completed we're pretty mellow, slow songs, moving/deep lyrics, both Orphan Black videos. So when she mentioned possibly doing an epic multifandom (something I don't have a lot of experience doing) I was a little terrified, especially after finding out it was my turn to start it.
Lori picked the song (and major love to her for picking an awesome song. I'd been obsessed with it for weeks) and we got rolling on August 8th. Almost a month later, after numerous sony vegas issues, crazed ripping sessions, and more than 50 e-mails back and forth it's finally done.
A part of me is sad that it's over, because I won't be anxiously checking my phone every 5 minutes looking for a new section from Lori to squee over. Another part of me is super excited it's done because we worked super hard on this. I'm really really proud of it, and that's always been hard for me to say about something I was actually a part of. Lori's work is seriously inspiring. Every time I doubted my ability to do multifandom she'd send me a section that would literally blow my mind and make me work just that much harder to get on the same level as her. I cannot stress enough how amazing she is. She raises the bar editing wise, and is also one of the sweetest, nicest people I've had the opportunity to get to know better.
This will definitely not be the last collaboration we do together (I hope!! :D), and I look forward to whatever we do next!!
