The details...
Met him through craigslist... sometimes I go looking for someone to play tennis with b/c i want to improve my game but have little luck finding someone who would play with someone at my crapstatic level. He posted that he had tickets to the game tonight... figured it wouldn't hurt to shoot him an email. We chatted and exchanged pics and made plans to meet up.
Personality - pretty good. Nice guy, seems like he'd be more fun if we went out again, this time I think he was a little nervous. A little hard to carry on a conversation, but when he loosened up a bit I could see us having a good time. Didn't feel the spark, but didn't think "oh my god how many innings are left?!"
Looks - much better than his pic, though shorter than I was expecting. Probably in the 5'9" range, which is a little short for me (I'm that girl, I love them tall); brown hair, green eyes, nice build - former football player so he had nice arms and shoulders. (I'm also that girl and love the upper body)
Night ended with - parting ways on the metro and him saying "keep in touch." Not sure what that means...
Pros - Admitted to being competitive, I liked that he was straight forward on something that can be seen as a negative trait; Both very interested in baseball (even though the game we went to blew); has that gentleman thing going on, he paid for everything (even when I tried) and won major points at the end of the night when he offered me his extra fare card so I didn't have to wait in line with the masses to get a new one.
Cons - Conversation didn't come easy; he's Catholic (like went to Catholic grade school and college, came from an Irish Catholic family of 7 kinda Catholic), which doesn't bother me, but the fact that he brought up religion makes me think that my non-religiousness might be a deal breaker as far as dating is concerned.
Overall impression - If he calls/emails/texts whatever, cool but otherwise I won't be waiting by the phone for his call, but figure next time I'm hanging at the midtown bars (where he also hangs) I'll send him a text to see if he wants to meet up. Otherwise not a bad way to pass a Sunday evening.
