I've been eagerly anticipating X-Men: First Class because helloooo, have you seen the trailers which promised epic manlove?!

I saw it last night on the opening day with the LJ gang, and the manlove was indeed Epic and totally exceeded all expectations for this very satisfied fangirl :D I can't recall a movie this slashy since Sherlock Holmes, but

Yep, their first meeting really blew my mind away. I really never, in a gazillion years, would have thought their first meeting would be like this. What really got me in that scene was Charles calling Erik by his name - that instant connection - and then the whole calm down, and the whole frantic tone of his voice as he pleaded with Erik to save himself.

I still want fic for their travels around the world to find the other mutants.

Argh, when Charles said "No, it was you who did this" (something along that line) at the end, that moment killed me.

I thought both the Erik/Raven and Charles/CIA Agent kisses were quite out of place/unnecessary.

ETA: Forgot to add that the extreme talent could be named James McAvoy quote is now my favourite. SO MUCH LOVE OMG.

OMG YES when I watched the video of them singing and saw the part where James McAvoy buries his head in Fassy's shoulder I died! And came back to life! In order to die again!

Love your detailed post, and yes, I did find the kiss really awkward too, plus the whole nekkid-in-bed thing. It's like some dumbass studio suit wanted the audience to pls note that these two dudes are not gay, we repeat, NOT GAY.

Shaney said in the other X-Men there's something implied between Magneto & Mystique though I still find it rather weird. Especially since he had just said earlier in that scene that she was too young. Oh well.
