Cleaning House

It's so amazing how much "stuff" we accumulate over the years. Some have a gift for streamlining and living lean. Throwing out that which they don't need is a daily habit.

I do not naturally have this gift:(

So now that Christmas is over, I can finally go through some of this "stuff" in an attempt to streamline our home. You can't even imagine the things I've found!! I've found high school and college forms and papers, jewelry from when I was 5. Yes, FIVE. Books I read in elementary school were found, as well as bookmarks from God-knows-how-long ago that I've never even used!

And oh, the stationary! I have always been very bad at snail mail, something I'm attempting to fix. And in this attempt, I've found some great stationary in my stores of "stuff"--if you're, like, 10, and still love Lisa Frank. (Well, I'm 27 and still enjoy the pretty colors, so if I have your address--watch out!)

I've always been a consumer, but judging by this mess, I've never consumed anything! I'm like a squirrel, packing all the good scented lotion away for the winter--but then forgetting about it. The "someday" in "I'll use that someday" never quite came until now. But for some of this crap, it's too late. It's time to say good-bye.

The good news is this: my handsome and talented husband built some storage shelves in our basement for the stuff I decide to keep around for another few years;)
