So, I'm sitting at work and waiting for 7am. I always hate working on the day that the clocks 'fall back'... because it makes for such a long day. 12 hours is long enough. Turn it into 13, and anything after 2am when the time switches - oh my lord, it's 19 versions of hell.
I was in a pretty good groove until then. Things were progressing nicely. Then the 2am - 1am everything rinse and repeat happened, and it didn't ever feel like the night was going to end after that. That and also we have been getting a bunch of waaaaaaay in advance notice that we are getting admissions lately, so they will call us at like, 10pm and not admit until 3. Or call us at midnight and the admit doesn't hit the floor until 4. Don't get me wrong. I appreciate the notice. But when you're waiting, and you don't want to get involved in something in case the admit comes and then you wait, and wait... and wait... and holy fuck come ON already wait....
I had a very slow week at work last week. I was sick Sunday, worked Monday and Tuesday, was supposed to work Thursday during the day and called in, showed up by mistake on Friday and ended up working anyways, and then was scheduled for Saturday. Compared to what I usually do, having 2 unexpected days off feels like I haven't been there hardly at all. I'll make up for it this week and next. I already have 5 12-hour days scheduled for this week, and 4 for next plus ACLS class (gotta use my educational leave somehow before the end of the year). Not to mention Nov. 11th will be a holiday + overtime. SO yeah... so working that day LOL.
Welp, my admit finally rolled around. Time for me to run.. See you sometime tomorrow.
nablopomo,
work
