I give up.....

So, I made it out the door around 1030am this morning. Drove through 5 points and found AL's. It was about 1045am and there was no parking spot to be found. So.....I drove around the block several times. It was raining and hard to see traffic around this area. I had pulled forward into the crosslane trying to see traffic. Geez. I woulda met you for lunch if I knew you had such a sad time. But then again, I had no idea it was raining, and I don't eat if I have to go out in the rain usually. I would go out in the rain for you, though.

parking down there sucks..all the time..and now they are booting cars if you park in the womens clinic, well you do have the choice to pay 5$ to park there now...but really? no ones there at night anyways.

UAB traffic is TERRIBLE. I avoid it at all costs until about 7:00pm. Al's is best at around 1am when there is no traffic and lots of parking spots.

Also, next time you are looking for a lunch place, go to Nikki's on Finley Blvd. It's a meat and three kinda place and it is A-MAZING. Just be ready because that line moves REALLY fast and they don't wanna wait around for you to finish a phone conversation. It's pretty intense but well worth it.

See, I never even thought about going to Als' until about 2:30 a.m. The bad thing about that was that it was hard to find a spot then. At least at 2:30, you could park at the abortion clinic. Better luck next time! Purple Onion is a cheap Al's imitation if you ask me! I much prefer Al's, my two cents!

Glad you found Al's, sorry about the parking.

It helps to be a UAB person... The big lot across the street is student/faculty parking (always full, though).

As far as good places to eat, I could go on and on...

I strongly second Niki's West! Also:
Ted's (Meat & 3, 4th ave S and 12th street)
Nabeel's (Mediteranean, by the park in Homewood)
Pita Stop (Mid-eastern, on 12th street south, between 11th and 12th ave)

Out your way, not to be missed is Thai Emerald, on the corner of 119 and 280. Very elegant, pricey, and cool. Take someone special there!
