First off: I have jelly beans on my profile page now - because jelly beans are A-MAY-ZING, and so is
berrygold who supplied them. (Woo, thanks!)
You know, I spend a ridiculous amount of time each month thinking on the following question: Do other people do as many embarrassingly stupid things as I do? it seems unlikely as no one seems to have as many stories of embarrassing misdeeds as me. On the other hand, maybe other people just don't talk about the stupid stuff - maybe they just don't admit to the ridiculous mistakes they've made. And, wow, do I ever hope it's the latter. Clearly though, if there is a not-admitting-to-stupid-errors gene, I do not have it.
..So I told you that story, to tell you this story. It's about moving. It's all about moving. And also slightly about this stupid thing I did.
It goes like this: I have three laptops. (Yes, I know). One from college which I spilled a fruit smoothie on years ago, completely destroying the keyboard. (I keep it around because someday I'll hook up an external keyboard and transfer all my files... someday has been years in the making). A second laptop, which just stopped working one day a few years back (same idea applies. someday..... etc etc). The third is my macbook and is five seconds from being surgically attached to my body.
Well, I kept the first two - unusable - laptops on the top shelf of a hall closet that I never really used. (I'm sure you can see where this is going, can't you?) YES! YES! I left my extraneous laptops at my old apartment when I moved. I turned in my keys... and realized this a day later.
So, if you've been feeling like you've made a silly mistake, feel better. I have made tons and I will happily tell you all about them - just like this - so that you can feel better. (And also because I think it's hilarious.)
