I'm currently constructing a vegetable garden for the inlaws. Well, kind of for them. I love it, so will probably dominate using it, but it's at their place. Lindsey has expressed concern that after all the effort gone into making the garden, once I leave it will be left to die a horrible nasty death. I really hope not. I will back often enough to be able to tend to it, and hopefully, with some actual stuff growing this year, it will at least get a watering every once in while. Last year I started too late and the hot summer sun killed everything off!

It's a no dig garden, so there should be few issues with weeding. There may be pea sprouts from seeds in the straw, but these will add nitrogen to the soil, a good thing. It's a very humus soil made of lucerne, pea straw, compost and manure, so this should retain water quite well. There will be loads of nutrients for the plants to use, so it shouldn't even need to be fertilzed that often.

Vegetables I intend on planting:
Tomatoes
Cucumber
Eggplant
Capsicum (Peppers)
Chillies
Carrots
Spring Onions
Zucchini
Corriander
Basil

Currently I have Beans and Peas growing which should start cropping in about 6 weeks. Yay!!
