Two major occurances this week:
One:
My brother's wife had a daughter. I hear she's cute.
Wouldn't know, the little beard grabber is 1400 miles away and no one has sent me pictures yet.
Two:
My last remaining stick of RAM dies from overheating.
It was a holdout from when my system died at about this time last year.
That DIMM was always suspect, but I couldn't prove anything.
Then a couple weeks ago I started having crashes when the system had been doing something strenuous.
I checked the CPU temp and it was fine, then checked the RAM, which wasn't.
I made an air dam to prevent hot air from the CPU cooler from blowing near the RAM, but it only bought me a bit of time.
So today I got a new pair of DIMMs and now things are happy again.... :)
