Moving on...

So the ex-gf has decreed that I shall move out at the beginning of October.
Reason being, that's when RenFest ends, and she's a participant.
So I get my weekends to just me and the kid.
Oh, and most of the week as well.
Can't give me time to find a job and new place, of course.
That wouldn't be cold and petty.

So I've been pouring over the want ads and wondering why no one ever lists something I'm qualified for.
Warehouse, bookstore, entry level programmer.
Truthfully, there are warehouse jobs in the metro, they're just way out in the burbs where I'd have to drive an hour to get to.
Oh, and everyone demands you have reliable transportation.
They pay you $7 per hour and expect you to be able to pay for a car. Yea, right.

On the note of public transport, the busses are only reliable 50% of the time.
That 50% is in the warmer months when there aren't ant weather problems or random festivals blocking roads.

I keep hearing roumors that the temp agencies around here are pretty decent.
I'm not sure which one(s) or where they are.
When I ask anyone about who they go through, it's like I'm asking a trade secret that you have to be in 'The Club' to know.
Folks are just so gosh darn helpful, really.

I have half an inkling to hop on the scooter next time kid is in daycare and just start driving.
At a top speed of 35mph and a range of 70 miles, I'll be in another state by the weekend.
