the feast of love

mmm i really like chocolate! there is a bowl of them next to me, chocolates with almonds inside them. i don't like cavities however.

you those stupid christmas tins of three kinds of popcorn? those are stupid as hell, i don't know how they've been assigned christmas food status. i dont recall the three kings bringing baby jesus three delicious flavors of popcorn (caramel, cheddar, butter).

or those boxes of really fancy chocolates that taste like absolute shit. goddamn those chocolates.

also, just because i work in retail doesn't mean im an incompetent moron. my position in retail is irrelevant in regards to my incompetence in life.

HARRY POTTER AND THE GHASTLY HALLOWS.

if you are interested in such matters, i recommend reading r.w. connell's Masculinities, which is a sociological book about...masculinity. she provides a lot of interesting perspectives on the societal influence on gender roles. this was the main book i sourced when writing my sociology paper on masculinity, which was really fun to write except for the fact i wrote it all in the last minute, which was rather stressful.

ow i just tried to crack my back, but instead i just fucking hurt it really bad.

edit: also, i just watched two really awesome movies. solaris, the original version by andrei tarkovsky. it's really slow paced, and if you like really slow and thoughtful dramas in space, this is a movie for you. also i watched the piano teacher, directed by michael haneke. it was one of the more bizarre movies i've seen.

superedit: thanks to wikipedia, i've found out that isabelle huppert, who played the 'piano teacher', also played that french nihilist in i heart huckabees. honestly, i didn't think i heart huckabees was really that awesome, but isabelle huppert fucking rocks!

superduperedit: from wikipedia: "In 2005, Huppert toured the United States in a production of Sarah Kane's theatrical piece, 4.48 Psychosis. This production was directed by Claude Regy and performed in French. Huppert chose to remain still throughout the entire performance, moving only her hands and face, much of the time with tears streaming down her cheeks." if you've ever read anything by sarah kane, than we can revel in the awesomeness that is isabelle huppert. all hail isabelle huppert!

also i think that the particular production of 4.48 Psychosis was the one at the Steppenwolf Theatre, which i was going to go to. if it is, i will feel like a jackass for having missed it.

woow wee woow.
