THE BIG GAME

Elections are my version of sports. I don't give half a shit about the Super Bowl, but I suspect how I feel tonight is how other people feel about the Super Bowl. Except I'm not rooting for one team to win so much as for the other team to lose. And I think Super Bowls don't generally make people stay up all night reading CNN.com, waiting for Montana to get its shit together.

I like this election, all the stuff I really cared about went the way I voted. But the results on Measures 46 (which failed) and 47 (which passed) have confirmed my long-standing suspicion about many people being really, really stupid. Basically a bunch of the people who voted FOR 47 also voted AGAINST 46, which makes absolutely no sense because 46 is a constitutional amendment without which 47 can't go into effect. Like, they sat down and said to themselves, "Gee, I really want this measure to pass, but I also want it to be unconstitutional and therefore pointless." WHY???
