We've had a hard core of BNP in the region for years, every so often they become a bit more visible even to fielding candidates in local elections. The reaction from various groups and indeed the general public tends to mean these forays into the light are short lived.
Recently there's been a change in tactics and in the people who seem to be attracted to that cause.
A long term moot member (admittedly one who doesn't attend very often these days) turned up at a recent moot put a BNP business cad on the table and started canvassing support - to be dismayed by the reactions of those present. (Thankfully several regulars were absent - we want the option of continuing to use that pub). It almost got to the point of my feeling sorry for the individual, note the almost.
Thing is that particular moot has always been fairly political and most of the regulars tend towards the anarcho-syndicalism end of the spectrum. (Anarchist and Pagan, and we do manage to organise ourselves - it can be done)The most vociferous and well argued opposition came from one of the youngest moot members - at least there's hope for the future, in the mean time there's some work to do.
