contunied after the cut:
Before I start, a pic from friday night's game:
Saturday
Brave New Gotham- I asked a friend over the weekend what game at the con she enjoyed most and she asked if it was conceited to say her own game. I told her that it was only being honest if that is where you had the most fun. I then told her that since I started running the "Brave New" series, they have been almost consistently my favorite games. I have an absolute blast running them. This game was certainly my favorite of the con. The players did a great job with their characters and I had a blast working the multiple player characters into the story while working in some fun NPCs like Baytor,
Detective Chimp(!), Six-Pak, and Spike. The Brave New games tend to be pretty light and silly affairs, but the game also had a few moments of real drama. Like I said, it was good fun.
It was during this slot, I first saw and heard about the plague that was attacking the con, the Norovirus. Much has been said about that elsewhere. I was lucky enough to make it through the con virus-free and my sympathies to all who came down the nastiness.
I started taking pictures more this slot and will eventually post them all online. Until then, here is a pic of two players, Kai and Keith:
Grindhouse!- I was supposed to be a player in this two-for-the-price-of-one Indy gaming slot, but Carla had to miss the con and I was recruited to run her half, House on the Hill. I had never run or read Inspectres, but I think it went pretty well. We through out ideas for movie trailers in between "movies" (the general concensus was that "Chain Gang Women vs the Snake-agator" was the best) and then moved in to Primetime Adventures. Much fun! Running a game in two hours is a fun challenge for GM and players, but everyone jumped in and chewed the challenge up.

In the last 5 minutes of the game, we fuckin' levelled! We went to the pub to celebrate!
Sunday
Brave New Savage Land- My second Brave New game of the con was also a pretty good success with the heroes fighting the kaiju threat in several locations around the world. I was a little worried about one of the players having chosen to play
Lobo, but I think that I had a good set-up for introducing Lobo to the plot on Earth and all of the players cooperated to keep it interesting and fun for all. The PCs eventually found their way to the Savage Land, source of the Kaiju, defeated an army of Skrulls, and then Galactus appeared. Wackiness ensued! By the end of the game, Lobo was driving off on his bike-cosmic, chased through the stars by a cosmically-charged
Doomsday. Meanwhile, an army of Kaiju followed a command placed in them by Dr. Doom (played wonderfully by John S.) and trashed the Baxter Building (home of the Fantastic Four) as well as much of New York. "Richaaaaaaards!"
After the game was the wrap-up festivities, my favorite part of the con. I drank a lot of "sexy," and enjoyed my last chance to see many of these folks for a while. As always after an Ambercon, I am wound up and thinking about games for next Ambercon and can't wait.

Next con: Brave New Asgard? Brave New Fabletown?
