work hates me, and my little Nano too
So they've announced a new promotion thing at work. Remember the last two? Free tickets to Cirque with wholesale packages? Yeah. It's back.
Starting Friday and all they way up to Thanksgiving. Meaning tons of overtime ahead and no day off requests will be honored. Oh and the sucky phone calls. They threw an extra spanner in the works: the O show is not being offered. Because that was the one everyone wanted last time and got pissed off when they didn't get it. What this will do is make half the calls "why NOT? I want the free show I want to see! You're so unfair!" etc etc.
How bad is it? the program has a title. It's called "Winter Of Entertainment!" which is of course an anagram of WOE. As in, "is me."
I brought this up at the launch meeting as a laugh (because that's what I do, comedic relief 24/7, for pick up or delivery) and Not. One. Manager. denied that it was titled that way just for that reason. They really kind of looked at me like "wow, you figured out our Sekrit In-Joke." Scary, huh.
Anyway, so that's the new problem I've got going this month. Yeah I'm grateful I'm going to have money coming in from all the extra work but why now in Nano November dear god why me waaaaaahhhhh.
Okay. Going to work now. Only four hour shift today. This is the last of those I'll see for awhile so I'll make the most of it. Dammity damn damn.
