What can I say about today’s tutorial? One word… WERID?
I had no idea what M.G meant when he told us to write our own story in Mark Leyner’s writing. When I first read his story I was already confused! Nevertheless I wrote a paragraph using Leyner’s writing style in mind and this is how it went….
“Oh beautiful day, why is it so hot?”
The sound of the autumn leaves rustled in the gentle breeze.
One by one, they fell on the ground and are crushed by the hurricane of walking people. Like the time I got hurt in the school yard.

I get back into my car and continue driving. I come to a halt for I forgot my map. I attempt to do a u-turn in a one way street. I keep driving. I soon stop again, for I need to use the toilet. I read a sigh ahead which says “chi saw”. I turn right.

As you can tell my writing is nothing like his. :P
After hearing the other student’s stories M.G pointed out that we all wrote something which related back to ourselves.
I guess every one has their own story kept inside themselves. Our lives are stories in themselves (also know as autobiographies). Everyone wants to tell the world something they experienced and I think that’s what M.G was trying to get out of us when he told us to write our own story using Leyner’s writing style. "Don’t think, just write!"

In the lecture, it was another story. I must admit I was not ready for the assessment at all. I didn't even finish the last two questions. :(  But besides that, the story which I liked reading the most was Dorothy Parker's "The Waltz".

At home I read it outloud in an english accent (you should try it, it's really fun). This gave me a deeper insight to the characters "inner voice" and  brought me back to that era.
Sometimes I had no idea if her inner voice was true or not, but I liked the way in which she contrasted her thoughts together.

Although literature is nothing what I expected. I hope I’m going to improve and soon understand each individual's thoughts and ideas.
