The second most famous Serbian assassin in Europe was
sentenced today for the murder of Swedish Foreign Minister Anna Lindh. According to the article, his sentence is life (which in Sweden usually means 15 years). Seems a bit short to me, but that wasn't the strange part.
The strange part to me was that the murderer was also fined 150,000 Swedish Krona (crowns) - 50,000 each for Lindh's husband and two sons. That's just a bit over US$20,000 in total at current exchange rates. That strikes me as a rather meager sum.
