Summary : Nino died?
“YES! He died! Now can you get out?!” Aiba shouted, his face is red.
“Hai, okay desuuuuu!!!” the shout indicates that filming for today has ended. The young idol bows to the crews and staffs before returning to his green room, get change and start walking home. Why would he walks home? Because his manager’s daughter have a high fever and need to be taken to the hospital so he ask his manager not to worry about him for today.
As the temperature continue to drop, his legs continue to walk faster. It is the middle of winter and the surrounding is all snow covered. The winter wind blows his face, making him shivers a bit. He tighten his scarf and walk faster, hoping to reach home as soon as possible. To distract his mind, he hums his favourite song and keep walking along the familiar alley. Suddenly his ears caught a tiny sound, like a very slow melody. He slow down his steps and look around for the source of the voice. After a while he realize that the sound is coming from the drain that almost covered by snow. As he walks toward the drain, the voice become clearer so that he can recognise the voice as a dog’s voice. He quickly clear the snow on the drain cover and pull the cover up with all his strength, which reveal a weak looking tiny puppy. Without thinking he loosen the scarf from around his neck, take the puppy from the drain and cover it with the scarf. After putting back the drain cover, he take the puppy home with him. While walking, he could not stop thankful that the drain is dry and he is glad to use that alley today.
When he reaches home, his body is already trembling from the cold. He almost fall as he entered the apartment but he power up a little bit to take an empty box and fill it with spare blanket before putting the puppy inside it. He went to the kitchen to warm up some milk and put it in the box together with the puppy. The little puppy drink the warm milk hungrily. He smiles softly before end up lying next to the box, fainted.
Around two hours later, his housemate almost got a heart attack seeing him, fully dressed and lying on the kitchen floor.
“Oi Aibaka! What are you doing?” Ninomiya said, shaking his body vigorously. But as soon as his hand come in touch with Aiba’s cheek, Ninomiya stop shaking.
“Masaki.. Masaki.. Wake up! Oh, no! He is burning.” Ninomiya starts panicking. Have no idea what should be done, he reach for his cellphone and calls Jun.
“J, Masaki is having high fever. I don’t know what to do. Please come quickly!”
“Alright, I’ll be there soon. In the meantime just keep him warm.”
Ninomiya take out a thick blanket from his bedroom and put it on Aiba’s body and hold his hand, praying that Jun will be here soon.
When he woke up, it is already dark and he received a lot of scolding from both his bandmate and housemate. He apologize to them for the trouble and explains the situation, which reward him a smack from each of them.
“Baka, take care of yourself too!” Jun snorts at him and Ninomiya agrees.
“You have a heart of gold, I know but stop getting into troubles just to help people.” Ninomiya nags at him. He just flash his thousand megawatt smile to both his friends and put his hand together to beg Nino to keep the puppy. At the end, Ninomiya just can’t help but agree. Well, nobody can resist that smile anyway!
“Yatta! Nino is such a good guy! I will call the puppy Nino!” he beamed.
“What the hell!” Ninomiya complaints.
“It looks just like you. Hora…”
“No way!”
“Yes way!”
“Noooooo!” and the house now have a new occupant, another Nino.

Five years later.
He steps in his own apartment. He switched on the light and muttered ‘tadaima’ before kicking his converse away. He has moved out from the apartment he shared with Ninomiya during their early years as Arashi. Not that they fight, but since the apartment is small and have no good security service, the management told them to move. And since they are getting busy these days, they also decide to get a separated one for the sake of privacy. Again, not that he is not comfortable with Ninomiya but being a national idol make him realize the importance of alone time, and Ninomiya feel the same too. At the beginning, he miss the old days with Ninomiya in their shared apartment but Ninomiya comes by often to play. Besides, he has another Nino with him in this apartment too. The Nino quickly greets him by licking his legs and runs around them.
“Nino, tadaima! Let me change first then we will go for a walk.” He said ruffling the dog’s fur. This Nino has been a loyal pet dog to Aiba since the day he saved him. They grow up together after that, taking care of each other. Aiba never felt alone with Nino’s company. He can’t stop feeling thankful that he decided to take Nino home that day.
At the park, there are a lot of people. Normally an idol would freak out being out like this, especially when he didn’t put on any disguise but for Aiba Masaki, it is never a problem. This is his neighbourhood and the people there is already familiar with his presence. So every time he take Nino out for a walk, he just act as usual. But unfortunately, today is not a usual day.
While he is jogging with Nino happily, he heard a screaming followed by a crash sound. From the place he standing, he saw two men wearing snow mask are running toward the park. Feeling alarmed, he let Nino free from his neck chain and ask the dog to run.
“Go Nino, hide!” he said and the dog runs. The surrounding become more clamorous as the police siren is now heard. Police shouts to warn the people to move away from the park. With the warning, people start running chaotically. Aiba ran too but stop to help an old women and his grandson. He piggy back the boy and hold the old woman’s hand as he try to take them away from the park. Unfortunately for him, the masked men reached them first. One of them is holding a knife while another one a gun. The gunned man point his gun toward Aiba and the boy on his back starts crying. Aiba try his best to calm the boy but he keep crying out loud.
“Aiba-san, I’m scared!” cried the boy. The boy’s words alarmed the men.
“Arararara, Arashi’s Aiba Masaki! That is why you look so familiar.” Said the gunned man
.
“Looks like the police have to think twice to act now since we have a precious idol here!” said the other man. Aiba panicked a bit before an idea strike him.
“Please guys, let they go. I will stay.” He said. The two men whispered among themselves, saying that it is easier to handle only one guy rather than an old woman and a kid, so they agree.
“Take your grandma and go away ne. You will be fine.” Aiba said to the boy and shoved him to his grandmother.
“Now you come with us.” one man come forward and grab his arm. Aiba obeys as the old woman and the boy are still in view. He is worried if he fight them, the gunned man will shoot them. After a few steps, they were surrounded by police. The police once again shouted a warning for the men to put down their weapons. This time, the man with a knife pull Aiba and put the knife on his neck.
“Let us through! Do you know who this is?” the man shouted back.
“Don’t hurt him. Put your weapons down. There is no way out, this place is surrounded!”
“Don’t try me!” the man said while pressing the knife to Aiba’s neck, drawing some blood. Aiba hissed in pain. He is trembling a bit, wondering will he come out of this situation alive. In time like this he remembered his bandmates nags saying he is too soft hearted. He also remembered once Ninomiya scolded him because he helps a fallen girl at the train station. The girl recognised him and start kya-ing, causing a chaos and him late for a recording. Nino always said that he will end up in trouble if he keep helping people without thinking like that. Well, now is exactly that! He is able to run away just now if he didn’t decide to stop and help the old woman and her grandson.
While he was day dreaming, he was awaken by a loud scream.
“Itai!!!!” The man who hold him loosen his grip, due to the pain from a dog bite on his leg. This give Aiba a chance to release himself from the man. The bitten man try to kick the dog away but failing, so he start to stab the dog with the knife. The gunned man is stunned with the sudden appearance of the dog and his struggling friend. Aiba take this opportunity to punch the gunned man and kick away his gun. With that the police move to capture the men while Aiba kneel beside the bleeding dog. He knows well the dog even with blood colouring his fur. This is Nino, his Nino!
“Nino, ganbare! Stay with me!” he said, try to look for the source of the bleeding but the man stabbed too many times, it is become impossible to stop it. The dog is dying in his arm.
“Nino… akeramenai! Okite yo!” he cried. Tears falling down his cheeks and down his neck, making it sting a bit due to the wound left by the man’s knife earlier but he don’t care. When he felt the dog stop breathing slowly, he cried his heart out while hugging the dog. People around the park start taking pictures and some even recorded a video from the very beginning. He heard the police tell them to stop. His idol mind tell him to walk away, hide his face but his body could not move. The next thing he knows he was on an ambulance.
The next day, all newspapers, magazines, TV stations and radios are filled with his name, along with pictures of him hugging a bloody and dying dog in a park. The hospital which he is warded is flooded with reporters. His manager have to lead his parent using other entrance to come to his room. He is alright though. Just a little wound on his neck. But he suffered a lot more inside. He refuses any food, resulting to a dramatic fall of blood sugar level. His parents, friends and management are worried. Once Aiba Masaki refuses chicken karage, it is something big. So Ninomiya decided to step up as he knows the reason of this.
“Ohayou sunshine!” Ninomiya beamed his sweetest smile when he entered Aiba’s private ward. Aiba flashes him a soft smile. Ninomiya take his seat next to his best friend bed after putting the paper bag he was carrying on the table.
“I brought you sushi.” He said.
“Thank you Ni… Kazu, I’ll it eat it later.” Seeing Aiba stumble while saying his usual name makes Ninomiya realize his what his friend is going under.
“Now I am Kazu?” he asks.
“Isn’t that your name?” Aiba ask back.
“Well yeah, but you rarely call me that. What happens to Nino?”
“Nino is dead!” Aiba answer, feeling a bit angry at Ninomiya’s insensitivity.
“Your heroic dog? Dead?”
“YES! He died! Now can you get out?!” Aiba shouted, his face is red.
“Oh Masaki.. he did not die in vain. He died saving his saviour. Could you be any prouder to own such dog?” Nino said in a soft voice while caressing Aiba’s hair. Aiba is crying hard.
“You have a heart of gold Masaki. That dog is lucky to die for a guy like you.” Nino said while hugging his best friend tightly. He feels that Aiba finally return the hug so he stays that way for a little more.
I started to write this since last year but it never complete, I dont know why. Finally, I manage to post this, I am so happy. >.< I hope you will enjoy this fic as much as I do writing it :D
