"Wake up, my lamb. &hearts" A clock ticked somewhere in the background but he ignored its insistent chiming. Fingers gripped his chin to tilt his head back as the coppery tang of blood filled the air he breathed in. The scent was enough to drive him wild but his body refused to obey. It was lifeless and he couldn't understand why.
"We're all waiting for you. So do rise and greet the family. &hearts" But he couldn't move. He struggled to rise up but something kept him pinned in place like a butterfly on a pin. What was it that prevented him from going where he wanted to go?! Finally he opened his eyes after what seemed like an endless struggle and froze. A massive white blade pierced through his chest and the boy gripping it looked at him with determined eyes. "Retreat from this battle-"
Then he was somewhere else standing before a lamp post as chains rattled and the gasps of a dying man filled his ears. He turned away from him as he snickered and smiled in a way he wasn't sure was human. But it was such fun to kill. He knew he'd

The dream began with a vacant expanse of white, upon which he stood, naked. Slowly, his own shadow extended in front of him until it was the shape of a tall, full-fledged adult man. A tiny dot of red appeared in the center of his forehead, shining brightly and then fading. The white expanse was replaced by black, bits of white sparkling in the distance.
A man's voice was whispering, but he couldn't make out the words. It grew louder and clearer, but ended with only one word before going silent: "ihm... schrz... Prodigy.As that word was spoken, the whole environment changed - the inside of a building - and above him the boy saw four cloaked figures. Raising his hands over his head - as if in defense, though the boy didn't know how that would help - he glared at the figures, knowing them to be attackers. A threat

Everything was so calm. Flowers in an open field, the sun shining brightly without a cloud in the sky, and it never changed. And then he felt the drag of time enveloping him, pangs of hunger in his stomach for the first time in his life, and falling...
Falling through the clouds. The whole world seemed so much bigger now and he couldn't figure out why. He traveled until he became tired, rested, and then warmth...
"There you go, little one."Now he was traveling again, but happier. There was some bouncing in the back, an occasional burn or foul-smelling mist, a slice through the air that hurt his ears... but all the same, he was happier now. It was like that for a long time and his only regret was that with time passing now, he could feel each day drag by... and yet when he opened mouth, nothing happened. It was as if no one could hear him

Someone was calling his name. He could hear them through the cold sea water that filled his lungs and sought for his life. It had always been this way. Hadn't it? He couldn't remember.

No. He wasn't that person even if the sound he couldn't hear sent waves of nostalgia twisting through his mind like hands plunging dee-
A little girl with dark hair looked down at him, her hands clasped behind her back. She tilted her head to the side as he sucked in grateful breaths of air. "Didn't you hear us calling you?"
Of course he did. If he hadn't he wouldn't be- Where was this? "Tyki, you shouldn't sleep in a tree. Its dangerous."
He frowned at her, his gold eyes flicking to the ground below them. It seemed so far away. The comment bothered him more than it should and he didn't get why. "It can't hurt me

What if it was? He didn't care. The dreamer walked over to the fence and leaned on it. He felt a mixture of feelings wash through him but neither man said a word. It was a peaceful silence, not a single drop of tension or malice.

He looked up at the sound again and the other man reached over to grab his arm. "Its not inevitable, you just have to be strong against it. Even if..."
He woke up before he could hear the rest of the man's words.
