"OHMYGOSHOHMYGOSHOHMYGOSHOHMYGOSH!!" There was a minor freak out going on within Anya. She was a mix of crazy emotions, though that wasn't exactly out of the normal, but right now she was freaking out because THE GAME! RIGHT NOW! STARTING SOON!!
She couldn't sit still. She was all geared up but rather than sitting on a bench and waiting patiently like some of her teammates, or doing more stretches, she was jumping about, shaking her hands at her side in order to release some of her already overwhelming load of adrenaline.
Re: Hufflepuff Locker Roomjj_rizzoJanuary 26 2008, 05:17:40 UTC
J.J. wasn't so much anxious as he was excited, or at least that's what he allowed himself to show. He was pumped for this game. He could feel the adrenaline and was excited. He just wanted to get on the bloody pitch already and start warming up. Or at least just fly around.
Because the sooner they got on that pitch? The sooner the game started.
And the sooner he got away from Anya's freak out which, while amusing, was NOT good for the rest of the team. Especially since most were newbies. But he wasn't about to be the one to stop her especially if he might be able to prove she was finally mental enough so he could be vice captain. Besides, he knew she would probably bloody kick his arse if he tried to calm her down a bit right now.
"Gearing up? Are you ready?" He asked Tegan, while still eyeing Anya kinda strangely.
Re: Hufflepuff Locker RoomvenusrefinedJanuary 26 2008, 05:22:41 UTC
Tegan was thankfully not hyperventilating, but was sitting on the bench and kind of just staring at nothing. To say she was scared and nervous would have been an understatement, but the one good thing about her was that she knew how to contain such feelings. Perhaps she looked a little more pale than usual, but she was pale to begin with so you could never be too sure. And though her stomach was tied in a million knots, she wasn't about to go throw up or anything.
It really didn't help that Anya was over in that corner spazzing about, but what could you do? Everyone handled this type of thing differently so she wasn't going to blame the girl.
She cleared her throat when JJ came over to her, trying to smile but unsure whether her lips actually got that far or not, "Um. Ready? Sure, I guess." She laughed nervously before shaking her head slightly, realizing she needed to be confident, "I mean, yes! Yes, I am." This time her grin was much more believable. "What about you?
Re: Hufflepuff Locker RoommynameisanyaJanuary 26 2008, 05:25:01 UTC
She felt the eyes on her and... yeah, okay so she realized that she probably wasn't doing much to boost team moral and confidence. So she shut her mouth, deciding to merely think the words in her mind rather than say them out loud. She also tried to stop her shaking hands, or at least bring the shaking down to a minimum.
Anya took in a few deep breaths, realizing she didn't need to freak out. She was a natural at this. The team was good. They would totally do this. Yep, she didn't need to worry about a thing.
Re: Hufflepuff Locker Roomjj_rizzoJanuary 26 2008, 06:48:26 UTC
J.J. noticed that Tegan was a bit pale, but didn't say anything about it. Instead he just sat down next to her and grinned at her while leaning forward onto his knees.
"I'm ready. Just want to get out there and start playing," he said. He leaned over and nudged her, "Not worried are you? You're going to be brilliant. You're a bloody natural. Just don't go mental like that one and you'll be fine."
He nodded his head towards Anya and grinned with a bit of a laugh added on. Just keep it energized and excited, but not too excited. That much he knew.
Re: Hufflepuff Locker RoomvenusrefinedJanuary 26 2008, 06:57:12 UTC
She had to laugh at his making fun of Anya, because it was quite funny. The girl was a little on the crazy side, even Tegan had to admit that. She nodded, "Got it. Don't go insane like Anya and I'll be good to go. Sounds easy enough," Tegan looked over toward the fourth year who seemed to be calming down, if only a little, "It'd take a lot to get me to that level of crazy."
Her laughter was a little louder now and definitely not as nervous. Hey, look at that -- he was distracting her! That was really sweet and when Tegan realized it, she gave him a smile while nudging him with her elbow, "Hey, you're not half as bad as you seem."
Re: Hufflepuff Locker RoommynameisanyaJanuary 26 2008, 06:59:24 UTC
Anya may or may not have been glancing toward where Tegan and JJ were sitting. She couldn't make out any of their words, but she did notice how they would look over at her every now and then... and laughing would generally follow. So that was both intriguing and really really annoying. Where they talking about her? Not so cool.
But she also knew that they weren't exactly the type to be saying anything too bad, so she tried not to worry about it. But were they laughing at her? Okay. Yeah, she needed to calm the hell down. Perhaps drinking some water would help... so she downed a quarter of the water she had in a bottle, wiping her mouth dry before taking another deep breath. Wouldn't be too much longer now!!
Re: Hufflepuff Locker Roomjj_rizzoJanuary 26 2008, 07:06:02 UTC
J.J. laughed, all the while slightly glad that Anya was on the other side of the room. Otherwise who knew what she would do right now. A bit unstable that one was. Though she was now glancing over towards them. Ah well he just shot her a grin before looking back at Tegan.
"That level? That takes years of work. I doubt you'd get there even if you confunded into a bloody plant," he grinned and snickered a bit. See this was nice, to say this when he was not in physical harm. Ha. Take that Anya.
He rolled his eyes at that comment. "Bloody took you long enough. But don't go telling the others. You know, I have the reputation to keep up," he teased. But it was true, for him. He didn't want to be that 'nice guy', though he could be that. It just...didn't settle well with him. Wasn't very 'cool'.
Re: Hufflepuff Locker RoomvenusrefinedJanuary 26 2008, 07:13:24 UTC
She rolled her eyes a little at his exaggeration, still laughing, though she was worried that Anya might over hear them and come storming over and demand to know what they were saying... they weren't exactly hiding the fact that they were talking about her, now were they? Oh well.
"Don't worry," She leaned in a little, her voice lowering, "Your secret is safe with me," Grin, "But seriously. Thanks. I appreciate the compliments as well. It took me a bit to figure out this Beater thing, but I think I'm finally starting to gain that confidence I need to kick some serious ass out there." Which was totally what she was going to do today, oh yeah.
Tegan chewed on her lip before going on, "And you? You're going to keep up that amazing reputation of yours and catch that snitch, right?"
Re: Hufflepuff Locker RoommynameisanyaJanuary 26 2008, 07:15:31 UTC
It took a lot in Anya not to go over there and demand to know what they were talking about. But that would both be rather rude and... well, she didn't want to get distracted with that stuff right now. Right now she wanted to focus on getting her head into the game. It was only in a few more minutes! Soon they'd all be out on the pitch, on their brooms up in the air.
She'd be the one prepared, at least. All they were doing was goofing around. That wasn't going to help at all! Ugh, but seriously. She didn't want to wonder about what they were talking about... okay, more stretching!!
Re: Hufflepuff Locker Roomjj_rizzoJanuary 26 2008, 08:19:49 UTC
J.J. was preparing, he was getting his mind clear and making sure that everyone else was getting ready too. Sure everyone's methods were different, but once he got up into the air he would be all business. He was excited, pumped, but couldn't get himself ahead of himself. Otherwise he'd get sucked into watching the game and not looking for the Snitch.
"We're all going to kick some ass out there," he said loud enough for the rest of the team to here. Sure he was pretty much side stepping her comment about his reputation. Yes, he did have that brilliant catch, but he had also missed the Snitch those other times. He needed more than one bloody lucky day, eh?
He lowered his voice though and nudged Tegan back, "I'll hold you to that. Otherwise you'll find yourself in more hypothetical situations than you can count Teegs." He grinned teasingly and then laughed. Oh he was ready for this game.
Re: Hufflepuff Locker RoomvenusrefinedJanuary 28 2008, 19:11:03 UTC
Tegan covered her face with her palm when he spoke louder, laughing at how cute he was being right now. He was one of those priceless teammates because he wanted to make sure everyone was okay and that they were confident in themselves before the match. That was brilliant.
"Oh no," She rolled her eyes, looking at him with a bit of dread as she thought about all those hypothetical questions he'd asked her throughout the years, "I'd rather die. So yes, it's coming with me to the grave, that one." Tegan laughed a little more, wondering whether he was actually serious about that reputation of his or not. It could be true. Maybe he didn't actually want people to know he was a real teddy bear at heart.
Re: Hufflepuff Locker RoommynameisanyaJanuary 28 2008, 19:14:07 UTC
Teddy bear? JJ?? If Anya had known that Tegan had compared the two... there would have been a lot of guffawing. In her mind, he was anything but a sweetheart. Well, he had his moments, but what she was slowly figuring out was that JJ tended not to be so sweet to her. Or at least not as sweet as he apparently was to others. Hmph!
She was still scowling a little when Will announced that they had five more minutes. Five more minutes!! She glanced around, gulping as she watched the others. She had to take in deep breaths, or else she felt like she was going to vomit. Bleh. Why was she so nervous? She'd done this plenty of times already!
