Ohh, Lea!

Did you know that you marked DADA in the strengths section then gave it a D?

did you know in weaknesses you said that she is 'rotten' in any subject that requires effort then gave the most complicated branch of magic (Transfiguration) an O?

Oh! and her dorm room wouldn't be messy at Hogwarts, they got House elves for that! *G*

Actually, what I said was that she's good at the class on days when they do practical things, by which I meant things like hexes. But since overall the class takes a lot more effort than that, what with having to read, and study, and write lots of essays, and listen to lectures, baaahhh, that's why she ends up not doing well.

And by the rotten re. effort comment, I mean classes that she has to work hard to do well in, clases she has to read a lot for, classes she has to have patience for. She's naturally gifted at transfiguration so for her it's not so much of an effort. She's okay with working hard at it because she sees results right away, and that's very gratifying.

And yes, I know, house elves. Well, house elves do not clean 24/7, they clean up at night. So when she wakes up in the morning her area of the dorm may be perfectly nice and shiny, but she sure as hell gives them something to work at by the time she gets to sleep. And her room at home may as well be taped off as a health hazzard.

Okay, I'm not comfortable with the Transfig score being an O if she is apparently so lazy and unmotivated. Being 'naturally gifted' at a subject is no excuse for an O.

If you'd be willing to change that to an E, the next time I come back I'll post an approval stamp.

There is also a time difference here. She's currently a second year, she's 12, she doesn't care all that much. If there were some knid of testing for second years then no, right now, she wouldn't get an O. But By the time she's a fifth year I expect her to have grown up quite a bit and probably give more of a shit.

Also, I think I explained fairly well that she cares about doing well in Transfiguration. It's the only class that she sees enough potential in to give it extra effort. I am not giving her an O just because she's gifted in the subject, I'm giving her an O because she recognizes that she's got the ability to do it, and as such, wants to use that ability to its full potential, so she works for it.

And honestly, come on, the rest of her grades are pretty dreadful anyway. She's going to fail defense against the dark arts and barely pass some other very important classes, which is pretty much going to ruin any future plans she has for herself anyway... it's not like I'm asking for her to pass all of her classes with flying ( ... )

Would you be able to give some indication of her current grades then, using the ABCDEF or OEAPDT systems?

sure. I'd say right now it's probably something like

Astronomy: P/D
Charms: E/A
DADA: borderline P/D
Herbology: A
History of Magic: T
Potions: A
Transfiguration: E

APPROVED! prettyhowtown October 27 2006, 09:43:11 UTC
Finally.

Lea's reapplication has been approved!

You must comment HERE to acknowledge this approval- if you do not do this within two weeks, your approval will be revoked.

Please make sure that you join np_hogwarts and np_atlas as well as friending np_officials, np_dumbledore and np_dailyprophet.

You may be interested in joining np_chatter to chat about NP and create backstories/future stories with other players. And also and np_plotting to play those backstories out, or to advertise for open 'roles' associated with your character that you want filled.

Please run the friend add/remove command through the character journal, and also add your PB to the PB list.

And finally, let Madame Russiani in on your student's medical records.

acknowledgement timeframe is 1 week. as per the rule that was implimented several months ago. If you are changing this rule you must first speak to me and I will make that decision.

currently 1 week is more than sufficient time to acknowledge a character.

We've noticed that you haven't played Lea in April and our activity guidelines state that characters must thread in np_hogwarts, np_atlas or np_plotting at least once a month. This has been your second warning, and the third time this happens, the character may be removed. Your options are:

a) post the character
b) announce hiatus
c) drop character

*please remember that a dropped character means that you cannot app a new character for 2 months.

thank you,
mod staff

wait so... warnings are an overall thing? Like, I get 3 warnings total, not 3 for each character?

a bit late but. 3 warnings per character.

oh, wow, haha, yes, this is answered way after the fact... but um, I asked because it said that it was my second warning for her, and I'd never gotten an inactivity warning for her before? Just for Jack I think... so I was confused...
