Personality: Bryant is loyal to a fault when it comes to his family. He places their needs above his own, often sacrificing what he wants both to please his parents and to protect his siblings, to give them the choices he doesn't feel he has in life. Taking over for his (now deceased) father is the last thing Bryant wants, but his sense of duty to the family and his wish to keep his younger siblings from being pushed to such a thing are what drive him to acquiesce.
Bryant might come off as lazy, but, really, he just doesn't much see the point of his studies at Hogwarts. NEWTs will do him little good in his Muggle life after school, so he doesn't see the point of studying and is opting to focus on having fun while he can.
Bryant also feels a strong sense of loyalty to his friends, especially those he feels closest to. He's not exactly the type to jump into action, but he will definitely bend over backwards to help a friend in need. This loyalty can also often lend to taking a friends side without knowing all the facts. If he feels a friend is being wrong, he will support him or her, regardless of if they are actually right or wrong.
Something not a lot of people see is that Bry is actually quite sentimental. Family and loved ones come first with him and though he presents a casual and friendly exterior to most of the world, he's known to get a bit emotional or sentimental around those he cares about.

The only reason that he did not get O's in those OWLs is because he didn't work very hard at it, letting his natural skill earn him an E, which he was more than pleased with. He also achieved an O in Muggle Studies, which he took out of sheer laziness - knowing he could ace it without studying at all - and failed everything else. It's not that he didn't understand those other subjects. It's more that he just didn't care.

Mostly because he despises all Slytherins on principle, but that is entirely beside the point.

"That's the best you can do, Mayfield?" he choked out. "I think you lost some brain cells with your transformation. Not that you had many to spare to begin with."
He shook his head at Rupert, clapping the other boy on the shoulder. "Confusing, isn't it?" he asked, smirking at the Puff. "But you can't deny it's a bit entertaining as well."
Really, he wondered if they shouldn't just throw Remy and Colin in a mudpit and let them have at it.
And then the "girls" were fighting and Rupert was clutching at him, apparently struggling to stand and they both watching the fight with great amusement.
Bryant was right there with Rupert and though it occured to him that they probably looked ridiculous laughing to hard that they had to hold each other up, there was really no choice in the matter.
Remy Cowan and Colin Mayfield were having a chick fight and it was absolutely the funniest thing he'd ever seen.
