Dari was heading for the staircase that would take her down to the dungeons for a quick bit of Potions work before going to her morning classes. She whistled a bit to herself as she walked, being in a fairly good mood as breakfast had been delightful and it was nearly the weekend. She'd probably do something with Jer or Tris or something.. but the important thing was it would be FUN.

Jayden headed down the hall, a slight skip in her step as she headed to class, idily twirling her wand in her fingers. Spotting Dari, she groaned softly.

"Been having fun with the mudbloods since you came back?" Jay asked as she fell into step beside her older sister, rolling her eyes.

Dari suppressed a groan and rolled her eyes at her sister.

Oi, just what I need to ruin a perfectly good mood.

"Been having fun being an absolute bitch?" she countered. In truth, Dari had mostly spent time with Jeremy and Tris, but she didn't need to defend her choices to Jay, not that doing so did any good.

"Oh, it's been a blast." She smirked, shooting Dariana a look. She knew she was a bitch, but what her dear sister failed to realize is that she didn't care.

Dari rolled her eyes, quickening her step. She had work to do and the sooner she got herself away from Jayden, the better.

"Well as long as you're having fun," she said sarcastically, not bothering to look at the girl. Honestly, at this rate she'd be tracking down Jer for a bit of distraction rather the doing her potions homework.

Snorting, Jay lengthened her stride to keep up with the sixth year. "I am having fun. More fun than you ever have."

At the speed of her walk, she arched an eyebrow. "Going to spend time with the filth, are you?"

Dari laughed out loud at that. Really, the suggestion that she, Dari, never had any fun? Was laughable. And insulting.

"What I do with my time is none of your concern, is it?" she replied coldly, breathing an inward sigh of relief as she neared the stairwell. Hopefully Jay would take the hint and leave soon.

"It's not as though you actually care about me."

She moved just a little bit quicker, trying to close that last gap between her and the stairs faster.

"Well, when Dad's always asking...." Jay trailed off with a cruel smile. "Or darling parents don't trust you, dear. You know that."

Laughing, Jay shook her head. "Oh, but I would; if you'd stop associating with mudbloods."

Aiming her wand carefully at her sister's back as she dropped behind her, Jay hexed her, hoping to not only hurt her from the hex, but to make her fall down the stairs.

Dari shrugged. She hated that her parents disapproved of her choices, but she didn't really try to hide them either. "Tattle to Father, then," she muttered, see if I care." She rolled her eyes at Jay's last comment, about to turn and make some kind of snarky comeback when the girl's hex hit her, just as she had reached the top of the stairs. She grabbed for the rail, trying to keep herself upright, but she wasn't quite quick enough and she found herself falling, unsure how far or how long, oly vaguely aware of both a sense of relief and a very large ache in her head as she finally stopped falling and everything seemed to go black.

"Oh, I will." Jay giggled as she watched her sister fall, seeing her wind up at nearly the bottom of the stairs and ducking into a small alcove in the hallway to see who found her, as she didn't want to be found at the scene of the 'crime'.

Dari stirred, trying to open her eyes, but there was a pounding in her head and she quickly shut them again.

"Jer?" she whispered, her voice barely audible. She was just concious of the fact that he was carrying her and that his voice sounded worried.

"Love," he answered her, worry still clear in his voice. He cursed himself for allowing his eyes to tear up at the sound of her voice. "You'll be okay," he assured her, trying his best to walk faster. "I've got you. You'll be alright."

He turned a corner seeing the doors to the Hospital Wing so close and he could have cried out. "Almost there," he kept talking, not sure if she was still awake... if she could hear him. "We're almost there... I've got you... every thing is alright."

He began hollering for the nurse the instant he disappeared into the doors of the Hospital Wing.

Of course she'd be alright, she thought. Why wouldn't she be? She just had a horrible headache. Her memory on why he was carrying her at all was a bit fuzzy. She'd been arguing with Jay near the stairs and... Oh,/i>.

Thinking about what must have happened only made her head hurt worse, so she tried to just focus on his voice, mumbling something incoherent, trying to open her eyes again, but there was light and her head ached so much.

"My head feels big," she mumbled, turning her face into his chest, burying it against his shirt. "And really painful."

Jeremy entered the wing, bellowing for the nurse as he gently laid Dari on the nearest bed.

"It's not big," he assured her, caressing the backs of his fingers over her cheek, "It's perfectly Dari sized."

He looked over his shoulder for the nurse, cursing silently when he didn't see her. Where the bloody hell was that woman? He needed her now and she was no where to be found... yet she seemed to always be around when he was trying to snog in the hospital wing. "Madame Russiani," he called calmly over his shoulder. Bloody hell, if she didn't get here soon he would go back there and hex the hell out of her.

He pressed his lips to her forehead, "The nurse will be here soon," he kept his voice smooth and soothing as he continued to caress her cheek. She'll be here soon or she'll have me to deal with. He wanted to ask her what had happened, there were so many things he needed to know but his first priority was to make her better... then he'd find out what he needed to know.

Dari leaned into his hand. It was comforting, having him there, hearing the soothing tone in his voice. She sighed softly as his lips brushed her forehead.

"Are you sure?" she asked softly. "It feels awfully big. And it hurts rather a lot." She whimpered softly as if to emphasize her point.

She nodded slowly at his assurances. "'Kay.. 'm just gonna go'sleep," she mumbled sleepily.
