Friday, October 6th - AFTER DINNER. EVENING 1. francesly October 30 2007, 03:58:37 UTC
Frankie was excited. Why was Frankie excited? It was the weekend! Frankie love, love, loved the weekend. There was also a teensy tiny chance that she was on a sugar buzz from too much candy. Whoops! Sitting down on the couch (LADY-LIKE, mind you), Frankie popped another sweet into her mouth.

CeCe wandered down the stairs from the dormitories, the newest copy of "Witch Weekly" in her hand. Sometimes it paid to have a sister who was the Junior Editor of the magazine.

Spotting a familiar blonde, she sat down across from her in a comfy chair. "Hey Frankie," she said politely. It was hard not to not think of Jamie when she saw his sister, it was only natural to associate them. For a quick moment she frowned, then flipped open the magazine.

"How are you?" she asked, glancing at an ad for new fall fashions.

"Hi, CeCe." Ooh, Witch Weekly. A copy she hadn't seen yet. Hopefully, she'd recieve her copy soon enough! It wouldn't do to have to go asking to look at someone else's. Frankie, quite comfortable and a tad envious, smiled over at CeCe.

"I'm pretty darn good, if I do say so myself." Mostly because she'd had an excellent day so far and... well, far too much sugar. "How are you?" Sometimes, she had no idea whether she was supposed to be feeling a bit of dislike for a person because sometimes she didn't have a clue what was going on with her brother.

"That's good to hear," CeCe replied, flipping to another page. "I'm doing alright. Life is life, I guess." She let out a sigh and glanced up, giving the younger girl a weak smile. She wasn't in super high spirits today. It was a strange mix of anger and hurt that ruled her since this afternoon. Oh, wait... The past month.

"Anything new and exciting?"

Saturday, October 7th. Sometime after breakfast. francesly November 3 2007, 01:35:26 UTC
After a morning of Jamie torture, Frankie had decided to return to the common room for a bit of reading. She probably ought to have been cracking open the books to study, but chose instead to finish off a novel she'd started a few weeks prior. Frankie wasn't exactly the quickest reader of books.

It was all about taking your time and enjoying it... or something along those lines. Anyhow! She was enjoying curling up on the couch with the book. Not that she'd complain about interruption, as socialization always beat out reading in the fun factor.

Zak strolled down into the common room having had a most relaxing lie in. Really, this Saturday thing should happen more often in the week. The very feeling of being well rested was becoming a foreign one. Damn those early morning classes...what was he saying? Zak never went to his early morning classes. Please, as if he was motivated enough to do that!

"Gooood morning, kiddo," He greeted, catching sight of the familiar face on the couch. "Had breakfast already? Christ, fair play to ya!" Zak stalled on his way past the couch and instead of continuing on down to the Great Hall he hopped over her and took the seat beside her. He made no secret of reading the spine of the book she was reading as he leaned forward in his seat and mouthed the words to himself. Zak raised an eyebrow, "Any good?"

Kiddo. Repressing the urge to remind Zak that she wasn't much younger than he was, she flashed a smile at him. "You know, breakfast actually started ages ago. You might just make it in time for lunch, though!" An exaggeration, sure, but it was pretty late in the morning.

"It's brilliant," Frankie replied. Most definitely not a cheesy, romance sort of book that she ought to have kept to reading in her room. At least the title didn't give it away! It was a perfectly normal, perfectly unsuspicious sort of title. "It's about a dragon tamer," she continued, closing the book and letting her finger serve as a bookmark for the moment.

Zak called everyone kiddo. Even those that were older than him. It was a bad habit, he never did grow to appreciate how much people didn't like being called that. And sure, if he ever did? He'd probably just tell them to get over it and move on. "Oh seriously?" Zak spared a glance at the clock on the wall and blinked. Wow, he sure knew how to sleep it in.

"Dragon tamer? Sound exciting," Zak replied, tilting his head a little to try and catch sight of the cover. It didn't quite look like a book of that sort. He had his suspicions about girls and their literature, unfortunately with Calie gone all he could ever find in the girls dorms were those large thick glossy photo-fashion magazines. That said, that was really all he ever wanted. "I'm not much of a reader," He admitted with a small shrug. Reading for leisure was such an odd idea. Reading was something he associated with work.

Sunday, October 8th. Evening 1. st_jamesplace November 10 2007, 04:44:50 UTC
Emily had thrown herself onto the couch and sprawled out. It was her prerogative as 7th year to get the entire thing to herself on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Of course, then a 1st year wanted on and oh, how could she be so mean? She grudgingly scrunched up a bit, leaving room for the one. This kept happening until eventually she was as tightly squeezed on that couch as a sardine in a can. Emily leaned over the side of the couch, dangling the book in her hands. It was such an odd position and even odder that it was more comfortable than sitting up straight.

She sighed. Was it time for dinner yet?

What a wonderful evening. David had just eaten a DELICIOUS PEACH COBBLER in the Great Hall and was now looking for something else to occupy his time. When he walked back into the Common Room, he spotted Emily in a strange contorted position. "Has anyone ever told you that you should really join the circus? You can't possibly be comfortable like that." He tilted his head as he talked, trying to figure out why his friend was so crazy.

"Oy, I already have," she said, closing her book. Somehow they had managed to squeeze yet another little one onto the couch and Emily was beginning to spill over. Clutching the couch, she pulled her way out of the tight situation. "It actually wasn't as bad as I'm sure it looked. But merlin can those younguns squeeze themselves? I didn't think so many people could fit onto a couch."

She sraightened up her haphazard appearance. "Where were you just now?" she asked as her stomach growled at her. "Because if you were just at dinner than I banish you from my sight as I've been starving for the last hour."

David was almost certain that he might still have some peach cobbler on his face. And lying to Emily wasn't something he was good at. He'd tried it once in fourth year and ended up with green hair for a week. "Er... No comment." He grinned at her. "Although, I think that a trip to the kitchens is in order. I hear they've made peach cobbler today. Coming?"

Yep, David was ALWAYS up for peach cobbler.

After being entertained in the hallway, Frankie and David had headed to the Common Room in search of something awesome and not resembling a boring activity. So, after whispering the password and crawling into it, Frankie glanced around at the first years chilling together.

"Somehow, I don't think this meets the excitement criteria," Frankie commented, as she'd never found first years particularly enthralling.

David frowned briefly. "Well, there must be something to do. Perhaps the first years might want to participate in a game of first year bowling. It's quite fun." He grinned at her as still, he tried to think of some crazy adventure they could go on.

Hmm. "I don't know, you feel like being the bowling ball? I don't happen to have one on me, so..." Honestly, it was a bit cruel to torture the first years too much. She was fairly certain she wouldn't ever be tempted to participate in a game that abused the first years.

Sort of, maybe.

David laughed and shrugged. "Well, we could find something else to do, probably. I don't suppose you have any brilliant suggestions? What do you usually do for fun?" David was really coming up with nothing to do and there was nothing more aggravating to him than being bored.

Zak was sprawled across the couch in the common room, his guitar laying lazily across his chest as he quietly strummed out some familiar sounding tunes. Every few songs would be accompanied by Zak whispering the words along with the music, but for the most part he remained silent. Some students were doing homework at this time after all.

He grinned up at the ceiling as he plucked at the strings, trying to come up with something to play. Something creative and exciting that'd make people bop their head along to the beat. But what? What could he play!?
