Saturday February 4th: late-morningmaddox_dixonOctober 9 2006, 19:53:03 UTC
Maddox sat at his usual table with his usual assortment of potions books piled up near him. It was almost automatic now, coming here whenever he had a spare moment. With a sigh, he turned the page and continued to take notes on his parchment. He'd considered starting work on a new potion, but had put it off by telling himself that he wouldn't have any time as he was busy with Natalie and his other friends. Now, of course, he had nothing BUT time.
After a few minutes, he grabbed a certain Potions book and a new piece of parchment and started working on something new.

After making it past that idiotic sixth year and his sparkling cape, Adrian made it safely into the library only to be faced with another idiotic sixth year. Dixon, at least, was sans cape and knew how to be quiet and stay out of the way. Still, Adrian cast a glare the other boy's direction as he was forced to walk by in order to peruse the shelves. There was a particular book he was interested in and the sooner he found it the sooner he could be off in his own quiet corner.

Rosy flounced into the library, really excited to debate potions with Mads. She assumed he forgot (because boys can be ridiculous that way) and a surprise study session would be even more amazing! She made her way to his usual table and sure enough, he was sulking. He certainly needed a good cheerer upper. Looking around, Rosy saw some boy glaring at Maddox. Who was he?
Whatever. Rosy snuck up behind Maddox and peered over his shoulder. "Watcha doing?"

Ailwin had parked himself at a table in the library, surrounded by textbooks and student essays. After finding an instance of plagiarism in one earlier that week, he was determined there was more. However, after working straight through breakfast and lunch, he began thinking of better ways to detect plagiarism than laboriously combing through all the texts personally. Enchanting their parchment? Enchanting the ink? Taking out all these books at once so students can't use any references at all?

So. After that exciting and amusing morning, one Alex Departie was currently on his way into the library. Yeah, that studying thing? Might come in handy, especially considering the fact he had missed a fair amounr of classes that wee under the excuse of doing his Head Boy duties. And now? Now he had to play catch up.
He groaned a little as he spotted a certain professor sitting at a table and mentally facepalmed. Maybe he could get out without being noticed...
Re: Saturday, February 4th - Afternoonprof_ailwinOctober 9 2006, 21:34:28 UTC
Ailwin wouldn't have looked up had he not heard a distinct groan. He recognized it immediately as one of his student's.
"Mr. Departie," Ailwin said, not even lifting his head. "Come to study? Or perhaps review material for an essay?" He added without humour, "Make sure you cite your sources appropriately."
Ailwin looked up, making sure Alex hadn't escaped the library somehow. "I've noticed that you're absent far more than comfortable. Care to elaborate as to why?"
Re: Saturday, February 4th - Afternoonalex_departieOctober 9 2006, 21:46:00 UTC
Alex groaned a little and covered his face with his hand. "Study, sir," he answered in a monotone. "Thought I'd, you know, get a little extra work done." Alex nodded as he spoke. "Need to set a good example and all."
He shrugged his shoulders a little as he folded his arms. "Busy." There was a slight pause before he spoke again. "You know, watching out for the younger years and whatnot. They tend to get into a good deal of trouble."
Re: Sunday, February 5th, Before DinnertrentlexingtonOctober 14 2006, 00:44:36 UTC
Sundays were the perfect time to do schoolwork. He usually tried to do his schoolwork in the library later in the evening, when not so many people would be around to spot him actually doing work - gasp! He did have a reputation as an obnoxious idiot to protect, after all.
For this reason, he was making his way stealthily through the library and looking for a place to sit when he saw Jamie sitting at a table. "JAMIE!" he shouted, before remembering that he was in the library and looking around quickly to make sure that Noire wasn't going to kick him out. "JAMIE!" he said again, this time in a loud whisper. He slammed his books down on the table and sat down loudly, only just remembering that he was in the library. Also known as a place that Trent Lexington was strongly against. Oops.

"HAHAHA, that's a good one!" Trent said, before remembering that he was supposed to be quiet. "I study sometimes," he said with a shrug, trying to pass it off as nothing. "Got a problem with that?" It was an attempt at a threat, but at the moment Trent wasn't feeling very intimidating so the threat kind of fell flat.
"Clearly you don't want me here!" Trent said at last, deciding to go for a different angle. "Your best mate pays a visit to the library and you aren't even glad to see him. I am hurt. Seriously. Look, I'm almost crying!"
Sunday February 5th, Evening.georgie_pykeOctober 14 2006, 00:14:49 UTC
Georgiana had an armful of books. Armful was an underestimation really, as she had crammed as many books as she was able to carry in the small space. She wasn't even particularly sure if she was allowed to borrow this many books, but she could sweet talk the librarian, right? A bat of the eyelashes, a promise to treat the books right and she was cooking with gas.
And if not? Well, she'd be stuck in the library for an awfully long time, but it would be worth it.
Out of the blue, one of her books clattered to the floor. And just like that, the effect of one book from the bottom of the pile falling out, they all clattered to the floor. Cursing, she bent to pick them up, staking them carefully, one on top of the other.
Re: Sunday February 5th, Evening.competitionmissOctober 14 2006, 01:48:13 UTC
Eva stopped her trek to the shelf she was looking for at the sight of Georgiana dropping a bunch of books. Walking over to the girl, with no particular rush in her step, she raised an eyebrow and looked down. Tactless. Really, class was so hard to find these days, but in the grand scheme of the school, Georgie was better than most.
She nudged one of the books with her foot, moving it slightly as she debated whether or not she was actually going to pick it up. It'd be so weak if she did. However, she was quite certain her dormmate might be a bit embarassed, and the awkwardness of others might reflect poorly on her. Gracefully, she bent over and picked the book nearest to her up. Straightening up again, she opened the book, examining a page, and not saying anything.
Re: Sunday February 5th, Evening.georgie_pykeOctober 14 2006, 02:18:11 UTC
Georgiana was less inclined to be embarassed and more annoyed that twenty-odd books had just fallen on the floor, stopping her from actually getting to the part she wanted to, which was reading them. She stacked book upon book, wondering how on earth she was going to carry them again, never occurring to her that she could just levitate the pile.
That was when she noticed that one was missing. Looking up, it was then she noticed that Eva had joined her and acquired the book that Georgie was currently missing. If a blush passed over her face, it was fleeting and barely registered.
"I think you have my book." She said and it came out much more awkward and perhaps shy than she'd ever intended it to be.
Re: Sunday February 5th, Evening.competitionmissOctober 14 2006, 03:26:44 UTC
Eva snapped the book shut with a slight noise, and smirked at Georige. "It would appear that I do," she replied coolly, her voice not changing pitches.
As cool as ice, she held the book out for the other girl to take, her posture perfect. Her eyes flickered to the tall stack of books on the ground, and back to her dormmate again. Ridiculous.
"You should levitate them. Carry them all would be absurd," she told her.

Since Darin only had one class today, it seemed like a good time to get caught up on work- or ahead, as the case may be. He couldn't afford to fall behind this year. As his parents had reminded he and Taylor, it was time to get serious about school and this essay wasn't going to write itself. Now there would be a charm worth looking into...
Re: Tuesday, February 7th - MidmorningdarianaclawOctober 20 2006, 14:20:11 UTC
Dari had a break between History and Ancient Runes class and she decided to take advantage of that by venturing into the library. There was, after all, work to be done. This weekend was Hogsmeade, which meant she wouldn't really have much time for schoolwork, and she wanted to be sure she didn't fall behind or anything.
She sat down and smiled as she looked up to see she'd managed to take a seat right next to Darin.
"Hey." She nudged him lightly, a little playfully. "What are you working on?"
Alright, so maybe she wasn't going to get any work done at this rate, but since when could Dari see a cute boy and not say hello?
Re: Tuesday, February 7th - MidmorningthecharmingtwinOctober 20 2006, 21:17:29 UTC
Darin glanced up when he noticed someone approaching the table and promptly did a double take and grinned when he noticed it was Dari. "Hey, there gorgeous."
He smiled over as she settled in. This probably wasn't good for his getting work done but he did have most of the day free for it. Who knew? Maybe they'd actually manage to be productive. Darin could probably use some nudges in the right direction with this anyway. "Potions, actually," he answered. "Still. I'm trying to make sure I've got it down before class tomorrow so I'm not dead in the water and stuck so I have to waste the weekend on work."
A Hogsmeade weekend stuck buried under paper was a Hogsmeade thoroughly ruined, and Darin had no intention of letting something like that happen. "What about you?" he nodded. "I didn't think you had any free time with your class load," Darin said teasingly. "Not skipping are you?"
Re: Tuesday, February 7th - MidmorningdarianaclawOctober 20 2006, 22:10:04 UTC
Dari grinned at his greeting. Flattery was definitely something that might work in his favor later. She nodded as she mentioned Potions. She'd already finished her essay, of course, but then she actually enjoyed the class.
She laughed at his comment regarding her schedule. "I only have eight classes," she countered, pulling a look of mock offense. "Anyway, I have a break between History and Runes, so I thought I'd get a bit of work done. Don't want to let homework distract me fro Hogsmeade this weekend, you know."
She grinned again as she pulled out her History homework. Speaking of essays...
"I could help you with the Potions essay," she offered. "I mean, if you want."
