Wednesday, March 29th, Level Eight: Cafeteria, afternoonpureslanderMarch 3 2007, 16:07:54 UTC
Marcus was sitting at one of the tables, legs crossed, a cup of coffee in front of him. His eyes were scanning the room, taking in every detail of the interior design whose lack of taste made him want to vomit. All the money the ministry had was obviously put to better use. A glance at his watch told him that his brother was late. Daniel had probably found some interesting document and forgotten that he had told his brother to meet him for coffee.
Sighing, the man took a sip from his cup. He would give Daniel another fifteen minutes.

Ed came into the cafeteria and saw no a few people scattered around the tables casually working on paperwork over their food...except for one. Ed grimaced as he saw Daniel's brother; the man worked in his department and Ed just could never trust the guy.
He picked up an apple and headed over to the visitor and put on his best smile, he wouldn't sit down without an invitation and honestly he wasn't sure he wanted to. "Waiting?"

Marcus couldn't match a name to the face at first but smiled in a friendly manner. "Yes," he replied politely and gestured towards one of the chairs, inviting Ed to take a seat. "I was supposed to meet my brother thirty minutes ago but he seems to have forgotten all about it."
Jackson's brain was trying to figure out who this man might be. Asking would be terribly rude since the other man seemed to know him.

"Want me to tear him away?" Really overall Ed was just being polite now but he'd only casually met Marcus once but he supposed that if one was like the other..
He tossed the apple lightly from hand to hand without thought; "Or you can just head up to the offices with me and pick on him yourself."
Monday, April 3rd - Late Afternoon on the Lift (somewhere between floors)lenore_greyMarch 12 2007, 10:06:42 UTC
Lenore was only just now coming into the office and she didn't intend to stay long. She'd spent all weekend down in Mysteries working on her current project. Even if she'd been able to stay away for any length of time on a normal weekend, Lenore was particularly loathe to abandon things during something as potentially chaotic as April Fool's Day and things had been running well. If she'd been less talkative and more of a workaholic than usual lately she didn't care to question it. It was, however, time for a bit of a break. She'd been quite producitve but eventually one had to sleep and home was a preferable place in which to do so. A few hours caught here and there in her office didn't quite do it.
There was just one thing Lenore had to check back in on before returning home and possibly eating a real meal; one idea that had popped into her head after a good deal of sleep and needed to be tested or at least fleshed out on parchment before she could go back to her flat and attempt real relaxation.

Calling it an early day on Monday was hardly the behavior to have for being awarded top obliviator but it was just the kind of thing that Ed was currently considering. So much so that he already pushed the button for the lift and was just going to decide when he got in.
So when the lift came to rest on his floor and the door opened to reveal Lenore he just smiled and stepped inside. "So..where to?"

Lenore smiled when she noticed Ed but she was forced to cover a yawn before she could manage a reply. "Sorry," she excused. "I'm...um, heading down. I'm only staying half an hour, I swear."
Why she felt the need to defend this to Ed- who she hadn't hardly spoken to in a week at least- Lenore didn't know. Possibly she thought he was the sort of person who would have told her to go home right now if he had any idea how many hours she'd put in, or maybe it was just that she knew it was silly to be back and needed to invent someone to tell her to leave in the absence of any such logical figure who watched enough to lecture her.

Ed couldn't help but laugh. "Looks like you're headed to get some coffee with me." He pushed the button to go to level 8 and looked at her. "If you hadn't yawned I still would have said you look tired. When's the last time you went home?"
Sometimes he thought she was too much like the old man and neglected everything else for the sake of the job. And how the Ministry was now and days? He didn't care for putting to much time in it.

She would be good, honest.
