Because Kathy is covered on my insurance as my domestic partner, and because my employer pays for most of her coverage as well as most of my coverage, the federal government taxes her coverage as income. My straight co-workers are not taxed for their husbands'/wives' coverage. (Although my straigh co-workers who are not married to their domestic partners are). Homo tax. Non-married tax.
