So, I was part of the incredibly cool
pod_together project, and now that all three of the collaborations I worked on have been posted, I figured I'd sling up some links here:
Why We Tell Our Stories: An Introduction to the New Oxford Universal Collection of Folktales, Dreamings, and Myths, by Doctor Constance Nine His Dark Materials, gen, 2105 words | 14:22 minutes
Summary: The fairy tale, "Lyra and the Harpy with No Name," is only a small sequence within the well-known mythic arc, The Thousand Garden Cycle.
AN:
winkingstar was the podficcer I worked with for this, and her rendition is just SO COOL and she handled the mix of academia and fairy tale beautifully. In other news, proud to report that this is my longest fic title yet.
A Girl's Guide to Open Heart Surgery Jennifer's Body, Jennifer/Needy, 2655 words | 16:00 minutes
Summary: The heart wants what the heart wants.
AN: This is basically the only kind of fix-it fic I could imagine for this movie, which involves necromancy and human sacrifice and unconventional romance.
swiiftly was a GEM and her character voices are absolutely amazing and fit the tone of the story and the movie so well.
Pilot Stargate Atlantis/The Social Network, Mark/Eduardo pre-slash, 6145 words | 33:03 minutes
Summary: The first time Mark meets Eduardo Saverin, he’s not really paying attention.
AN: OMG
thisissirius is such a champ. I was such a flail of edit and madness writing this story, and she did an amazing job tolerating my flailing and bringing the story to life. I cannot wait to work with her more (hopefully the sequel to this is forthcoming! Soon as I finish editing my big bang and writing Prince Wardo and making big bang art and generally overextending myself like a mofo arghhhh). But, yes. Basically, if you like the idea of TSN in Space, this is for you. Eventually.
WHOO! And now to get those other fics finished. IT NEVER ENDS.
In other news, I am slowly but steadily going insane thanks to
alexthegreat idly posting a list of the ten fics he'd take to a desert island with him. TEN IS JUST AN INSANELY LOW NUMBER, WHO CAN POSSIBLY CHOOSE ONLY TEN. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. Hopefully I'll eventually whittle my list down to, oh, twenty, and then post the recs here. In the meantime, feel free to bombard me with recs to your favorite Harry Potter fics, as I am going through something of a revival.
In conclusion: HI.
