THEY PLAYED MY FAVOURITE SONG (and the song that's on my journal title) ON TONIGHT'S HIMYM EPISODE!!! HOW AWESOME IS THAT? PLUS, NOW I FEEL LIKE A TOTAL PSYCHIC!!!
"Shake It Out" by Florence and the Machine really was the perfect choice for that scene. There have been lots of bumps in the road this season, both in terms of character development and episode quality - but as the lyrics say, "It's always darkest before the dawn". Seriously, there's a reason that lyric has always been my motto!
I know that I've complained about HIMYM this season. Yes, there have been times where - like Ted would say - "after every [episode], I believe a little less...and a little less", but there's no better feeling than experiencing that rush of adrenaline flowing to your brain and your heart accelerating in response. And in this episode, for the first time in a long time, I have finally felt it. I have finally felt...hopeful.
I know that it won't be an easy ride to get through the rest of this season, but after tonight's episode, I'm determined to take a risk and believe.
Because the saying really is true.
