because i love you, i will leave

i will pick
my footsteps
up from the floor

backdoor.

i am leaving.

i let my eyes
speak
and my mouth
sleep.

my sleepy-eyed
mouth.

i am walking
out.
but it's all because

you.

words slip from my
eyelashes
like tears!
except not.

it's a litany of
'i stayed too long,
i'm leaving too soon'

'i'm blaming
you,
and only
you'

because i love you,
i part
vaguely
silently.

because you love yourself,
i part
like a ghost
like
i was never really
there.

because i was never able to
love
(healthily)
you
and you were never able
to love
period.
