Supernatural 5 x 22 (spoilers!)

The season finale (I sorta wish it had been the series finale. Oh Season Six please don't suck royally).

I love the idea of Chuck narrating the episode. It makes it deliciously meta as well as framing the whole thing.

I was convinced they would kill the Impala the whole episode. I feared for its safety! The little details about the Impala, the solider in the ashtray, the legos in the vents, was ADORABLE.

Cas snoring is cute and sad, because it shows how human he's become. He's going to be useless and/or dead at the end.

Cas trying to lie to Sam was funny and painful. Seeing all the blood in the back of the Impala was really upsetting and I don't think he should've been able to drink all of that, but whatev.

The encounter with Lucifer was painful, especially when it was obvious that it wasn't working. They wanted to believe so much that it would work and... nothing. Oh Dean. Oh Sam.

Bobby and Cas don't know what to do about the apocalypse. I am seeing "The End" Cas here bad. This is what happened. If Dean hadn't known, we would've seen him growing that impervious shell and becoming "The End" Dean. This is depressing!

The Sam stuff is so.... dull? Maybe because I am very very NOT invested in Sam, and so seeing his fight in the ~mirror with Lucifer is dull. But I DO like Sam Evil more than I like him Good.

What Lucifer is saying in his fight with Michael is things I have wondered about Christianity. I love that the show brings it up, and Michael basically has no answer. He "loves" his brother, but he obviously isn't willing to go to great lengths for him. God is gone, and they can't even work something out? HMM.

I for serious though Dean was going to run over all of them! HAHAHA.

OH CASTIEL. "Assbutt!"??? REALLY??? I love that he threw holy oil on Michael. I think he knew Lucifer would kill him. I think he did it because he does believe in Dean, deep down, and he wants Dean to have the best possible chance.

And I knew Bobby wouldn't make it, obviously.

Watching Sam pound in Dean's face was horrible. It was so sad and so upsetting. I love that Sam's love for Dean is stronger than Lucifer will ever be. After all, Lucifer's family has not proven to be as close as the Winchesters, even though they are PURE and ANGELS and stuff. This really speaks to what Sera Gamble said about Supernatural being a human story. In the end, Sam and Dean's human love is what prevails.

I don't know what to think about Michael going under. Dayum.

I screamed when Castiel came back. "Are you God?" asks Dean. Ha ha ha. While I wouldn't believe that (and Cas says it isn't true) it's strange how God keeps choosing to save this one angel, to bring him back, even though he's defied orders again and again.

This is the point where I start going "Uh, really?" Because if this had been the series finale, things would've gone a lot differently.

I don't like that Cas says he's going to be the "new sheriff" in heaven. Castiel isn't even an ARCHANGEL, which are a class above him. Wouldn't he defer to them? I don't know. And the answer for Dean, if he would rather have peace or freedom, is always freedom. Dean will always want freedom.

I DONT KNOW WHY CHUCK VANISHED INTO THIN AIR. Some people are thinking he's God - uh, no. They set him up as a prophet and showed other prophets and it would just be too campy for that. Some people say he was taken up to Heaven, like Elijah, and I can maybe buy that. If there was a freaking reason for it. It was just so random and it feels like there's not THOUGHT behind it at all.

THE PROBLEM WITH LISA. They've mentioned Lisa in about four episodes. The one where she first appears, the Dream Root episode, the episode where Dean goes to see her, and this one. The writers are trying to make us believe that Dean would really prefer a idyllic simple life. No, no he wouldn't.

The thing is Dean loves family. He wants to be with his family so badly; that is his end goal. However, his family is Sam, used to be John and Mary, can include Bobby, and has come to include Cas. The writers, if they wanted to put in a female love interest, need to have the lady bond with the boys. She needs to hunt with them.
That's why, YEARS LATER, everyone in fandom still loves Sarah from that haunted painting episode. She hunted with them, she understands them. Jo had a hard time working because she came in as the little sister. It is VERY hard to graduate to love interest from little sister. It would've been better if she hadn't wanted Dean. It would've made her much more appealing to the fanbase.

So the insertion of Lisa so late in the game, especially the crap they tried to pull with "He's like a mini-Dean!" just doesn't work. She doesn't know about a VITAL piece of his life. And if he's with her, he will be denying who he's been for his ENTIRE LIFE. He's been hunting since he was, what, five? He will never not be a hunter. He wants a family, but that family will know about his hunting in order for him to really get close to them.

Any love interest of Dean, moreso than Sam, will need to understand that Sam is First. There's a reason people ship Sam/Dean so heartily. They will need to understand about Dean's hunting, and how his father made him protector and knight of Sam. I cannot see a real relationship without the other person knowing this.

So. Yeah. I hate the Lisa idea because we've been shown time and time again that Dean only wants his family. He even says in this episode that he wants to die. How is that a good start for a relationship???

Ok, deep breath.

I don't know why Sam is being a stalker outside the window. Part of me thinks Castiel did a little finagling to get Sam back, or else something major happened. Part for next season's plot?

I don't know what the heck is going to happen next season. After you kill the devil, what is left? Is Dean going after God? Did Lucifer escape and the first half of the season he'll be pretending to be Sam but reveal himself later? TPTB said no angels, but really? What are you going to do now???

I am clueless. I just hope Misha Collins comes back, because yes, I have turned into that type of fan.
