In the Same Boat have organised a benefit gig for this Saturday 13 May at the Sumac Centre (doors open 8pm). All money goes to the "No Borders" campaign, supporting refugees held in detention centres. £3 to get in. Acts are:
Trickster - dirty funk, country blues and roots rock fusion
Jezz Hall and his band - original songs with a rootsy flavour
Jonathan Beckett - Robin Hitchcockesque singer-songwriter
Chris Jones - aggressive acoustic guitar from the Derbyshire Delta
