238, darn close to all day

After leaving Callisto's room Angel went back to 238. This was his last day in Fandom. He had to pack. There was plenty of time before he needed to meet the portal he'd arranged to go back home, but right now he felt better keeping himself busy with the mundane stuff

Phoebe had put this off until the last minute, but she wanted to say goodbye after everything he had helped her with. Taking a deep breath, she kocked on his door.

Angel opened the door. "Phoebe. Hey."

"Hey Angel," she said softly. "I wanted to make sure I said goodbye... and let you know how much you are going to be missed."

"Thanks, Phoebe," Angel said. "I'm going to miss this place too. I'm really glad I came here."

"I am, too," she said quietly. "Next year isn't going to be the same without you, Angel."

"I know you're probably the last person who needs to be told this, but take care of Bel, okay?" Angel asked. "And if you or he ever need any help, I'm just a phone call away."

Phoebe smiled at him and nodded.

"I will and... thanks, Angel. For everything you've done for him... for all you've done to help me." She ran a hand through her hair. "And thank you for letting me know we can call if we need you."

"What're friends for?" Angel replied.

Phoebe blinked her eyes rapidly.

"You've been a good friend," she finally said. "I am so not good at goodbyes."

"Not to be a huge cliche or anything," Angel said, "but how about 'see you later'?"

Phoebe forced a smile and nodded. "I had better see you again, Angel," she said with some humour. She looked unsure. "Will I get my ass kicked if I hug you?"

Angel gave her a small grin. "I promise not to tell Callisto."

Phoebe grinned back and hugged him tight. "You becareful, Angel," she said softly. "And that phone goes both ways. Also? You ever need help from an empathic witch with serious premonitions, you let me know. I'll always do whatever I can to help."

Angel hugged her back. "Thanks, Phoebe. You ever need help from a souled vampire who doesn't mind hauling your boyfriend on the carpet when he needs it, you let me know."

Phoebe nodded. "Always," she promised. "The next time I need that If I ever need you to, I'll make sure I call you."
