It had been a long, exciting, night for everyone. The whole camp had waited up for Hershel to bring news of Charli and her baby. Waiting, just in case something happened and their help was needed. But everything had gone well and everyone had turned in for a good nights sleep. Even Robin was curled up on the couch, sleeping against Daryl.

Seb was aware that it was late and that mother and baby needed their rest too. But he knew that Charli didn't have any family left to visit, to give encouraging words and welcome the baby to the world. In the morning, everyone would be lining up to see, but Seb knew that right now could feel so scary and lonely for such a young mother.

He put his head quietly around the door, a sheepish smile on his face.

The baby was quiet, sleeping soundly in the bend of Charli's arm, and the young mum was fighting to stay awake, not ready yet to stop looking at the little boy. He already had dark hair, that curled in soft wisps against his head, and the grip he had on Charli's finger was strong. She'd been left relatively alone for the last hour, only occasionally getting a visit from Patricia or Carol to check in on her.

When the door opened, she glanced up, offering a sleepy smile to Seb. "Hi."

ooc: I was ridiculously giddy just now to see Seb :D

"Hey..." Seb's voice was soft and gentle, not wanting to disturb the mother or child.

He lingered in the doorway, his hand clutching the doorhandle. "I was was wondering if you wanted any visitors? I can go if you want to be alone..."

"It's fine, Seb. Come meet him." She shifts slightly so that she's sitting up more, cradling her son to her chest. She wouldn't say it loud, but she was kind of scared to be alone, at a complete loss whenever he so much as grizzled and the company was more than welcomed.

"I'm surprised I haven't had more visitors, actually."

Shutting the door gently behind him, he walked over as quietly as he could. As soon as he reached the bed, he was leaning over it, index finger outstretched to carefully push down the swaddling and look at the baby boy. A large smile spread over his face.

"Hey little guy..." He didn't take his eyes off the scrunched up face as he replied. "The guys are all pretty tired, and they thought you'd want to rest. They'll all be here in the morning."

Charli watched Seb, eyes darting back and forth between the two. The infants face scrunches up and he squirms, sending Charli into a fuss until he settled again. "Did everyone stay up and wait?" She watches him curiously.

Biting her lip, she ducks her head. "Has anyone seen Shane?"

"Everyone stayed up! We all wanted to know that you and the little one were safe and healthy before we went to sleep." He smiles, his whole face lighting up at the thought of how they're all one big family in moments like these.

The smile slips, though, at that. He blinks and feels a bit awkward. "... Yeah... He's... Somewhere. Hasn't he been in yet? ... Its a big thing, you know, and us guys... We're pretty shitty at dealing with this stuff... I'm sue he'll be in soon."

"He's little, but he's healthy." She smiles, unwrapping him enough that Seb could see. There's concern that people had stayed up so late when it wasn't necessary for them to, but she appreciated that it mattered so much and that all were super excited enough to do so.

Keeping her gaze downcast, she shrugs, trying to hide how much it bothers her. "You're probably right. He'll be here soon."

"Hershel said he was probably early." He put his finger out again. He's seen new borns before. He can remember when Robin was born. But he'll never stop being amazed by how soft their skin is, how their whole fist is the size of the tip of his finger. "He was just eager to come and meet his mommy."

"Maybe he's gone to find a box of cigars." It was a lame joke really...

Charli nods in agreement, brushing a hand over the boy's soft, black hair. "Said the same to me. As long as he's healthy, small is fine. Doubt he'll stay small forever." Relaxing back into the pillows, she smiles up at him.

"He'd better not be planning to smoke them around his son." Lame as the joke may have been, it made her smile, helping to rid her of any negative thoughts.

Seb just smiles to her, to the baby. Everything sounds so quiet with the camp all sleeping and even though he's tired himself, it's a moment of peace in a constantly fraught world these days. "Trust me, he'll grow faster than you can ever believe. It only seems yesterday Robin was born..."

He lets out a soft huff of a laugh. "I'll confiscate them, you know, make sure he doesn't."

"I don't want him to grow. He can stay this little forever." Unaware. Unafraid. Tucked safely away in his mother's arms, completely oblivious to the dangers that surround him. But Charli didn't voice any of that. "How was she, as a baby?"

She laughs softly, the infant squirming again at the sudden movements. "Good. I'm glad."

He smiles at the baby she's holding, but he's not seeing that little boy now, just his little girl. "She giggled a lot. And spat up on my clothes every time I was going for an audition. Her mum probably made her do it."

"There's a magic trick I know, I'll make them all vanish using just one cigarette lighter."
