Why: Jack's gone off the deep end and has killed a Doctor. Now he wants to repent. The Doctor begs him to stay with him as Jack's darkness builds. Jack pushes the Doctor away before he can hurt the Time Lord and runs for it. The Doctor is not able to catch up and dissolves into frustrated anger himself.
