[Well, thumps from the roof had been pretty commonplace in the past few days. Flandre had mostly tuned them out, with one day blurring into the next like they usually did.
Usually, though, the roof didn't keep thumping. And make somewhat alarming noises, like it was trying to fall in.
...and what's that, out the window?
Flandre chirps as she toddles over to it, clawing at the glass a bit--then apparently remembering that it won't just break because she wants it to. At least not now. This time she opens the window properly, though she can't lean out too far. There's a thing in the way.
It has scales and is making a rumbly noise.
So of course the first thing Flandre does is try to touch it.]
[ Her body radiates a gentle warmth, and the hard scales are rough if rubbed in the wrong direction. There is a weak twitch at the contact, as if shying away from it, and the gutter along the edge of the roof creaks. ]
[Flandre chitters, drawing her hand back slightly. What was that noise?
...nah, couldn't be important.
Stretching out both hands this time, her claws scrape against the smooth scales as she traces first one, then its neighbor and so on. Odd. She thought a lizard would be cold, yet this was warm.
Maybe it wasn't a lizard?
...well, best to find out.
The little vampire carefully crawled out of the window to try and find some purchase--oh, was that a mane? Such pretty red! She'll be holding onto that--and starts following the scales.]
[ There is a low rumble as the unexpected weight settles on the beast's back, but the source is just a long exhale of air. It's... almost like a really BIG yawn. ]
[ That noise ceases, and there is a big messy mane of red in Flandre's path now, with a pair of yellow stick-like horns jutting out from the sides of it. ]
[...now why were there branches all of a sudden? Flandre chirps--and then bats at one of them. They don't seem to be nearly as flexible or bendy as branches could be--rather solidly rooted in place. The vampire grabs onto one, experimentally, and pulls herself forwards and up with it. So she doesn't get lost in that mane, which has suddenly gotten much bigger.]
[ Bigger and thicker, but there is clearing straight ahead! Just one giant scaled knot to go, and then the wrinkled brow to cross, its sides sloping downward to the roof. The source of the rumbling is dead ahead, too, thick whiskers twitching occasionally. ]
[ It moves again, and there is something of a huff of air as one of Flandre's feet comes dangerous close to the dragon's eye. It's enough for her to finally stir awake and look forward at--
Is that someone's butt on her face? She just stares a moment longer, occasionally blinking the drowsiness from her eyes. ]
...also it breathed! Or otherwise made some warm puff of air, from what looked more and more like a nose.
Those were definitely eyes, though. Nice, clear blue eyes--maybe not as pretty as red, but enough to encourage Flandre to wiggle and turn herself around, to tilt her head at one. Then--was that another?--leaning aaaaall the way to the other side to peer at the matching one. Then back again.]

Flandre pauses in crawling around, to watch. Whatever they were, they were moving.
She bats at one.
...her hand falls hopelessly short.
The vampire huffs, clambers outward a bit more, and tries this again. And again, trying to catch one of these moving things.]
