Today is the first day of the rest of my life

So, after 25 years of stumbling around, and four years after just saying "fuck it" and starting over, I finished my undergraduate work yesterday. It means nothing, and it means everything. Congratulations on finishing your degree. :)

And a friend of mine is getting married to his boyfriend tomorrow. When I found out about it three days ago I did not expect to feel upset and jealous, and that was more than a little confusing.

I feel very much behind the curve on achievement, but I have a couple friends who died from drug overdoses and another "friend" who drifts around leaving every bridge behind him burned. So for both of us, we're doing our best.

I'm surprised. We have some overlap in Facebook friends, and you always seem to be doing well--at least in your writing career (which, congratulations.)

It's funny the perceptions we take and carry with us. Some of mine I would like to set down, just as much as I'd like others to set down ones about me.
